We really need to find a way to get this team scoring again. I don't think 4-3-3 works the formation I'd go with is 3-5-2
Eastwood
Findlay Moore brown
Anderson brannagan bate Fleming
Browne/goodrham
Joseph/G,od wildschut
That team is fluid you could change to 3-4-3 or 4-3-3 (if you want ) or 5-3-2

The last time we played with three at the back and wing backs we won. That was our last win.

I don’t get it, it seems so obvious to me. Especially with the players available.

I’ve been saying it for weeks if not months now. 3/5/2with the ball, 5-3-2 without, stay in the game, flood the midfield, attacking wingbacks in Anderson and Fleming.

But no, just Robinson’s obsession with 4-3-3, disappointing that Short continued with it today.

Don’t wanna see Joseph in a Oxford shirt again i have seen 4 years old look more comfortable on a football

Feels like a wacky idea, but why don't we revert back to 5-3-2/3-5-2 (whichever way round you want to have it), seeing as the last time we played it, we won.

Fleming and Anderson are best suited to wing backs anyway. Stick Joseph and Wildschut up front and have Bate, McGuane and Brannagan as a 3.

It may just be the thing that helps us not concede so many, and having 2 big players up front will allow us to compete and maybe actually get the ball close to the oppositions goal.

Then if we so happen to get 15 corners again, then maybe we'll have a chance of doing something with 5 or 6 players on the pitch who are 6ft+.
I'd even be tempted to let Findlay, our most aggressive defender who gets first contact more than anyone else in the squad, go forwards for set pieces.

Wing backs being the move is so obvious it's almost painful.

I think Wildschut is definitely the best signing this year despite his fitness problems when he arrived. At his best, he's a level above
Steady on. I’d say that at his best he’s a decent tricky league one winger. But that’s what we need as a minimum.

For the first time for quite a long while i was unable to go to a game, unfortunately i made the mistake of listening to the match on RadOx. The commentary was a disgrace, full of waffle waffle waffle not what was happening in the game. I feel so sorry for those who only have that means of listening to the game.
It wasn't just me then. Towards the end of the game I found myself shouting at the radio "ffs stop waffling and tell us what's happening". It's something Jerome does from time to time unfortunately, once he is in 'waffle' mode he just goes on and on.

Wildschut is a text book Robinson signing, could/should/might be good paper, but is actually woefully short of what is needed.

As I said earlier, KR has left our squad bereft of options. Agree on 352 (though I'd keep Long as RWB, purely for security)

With only Bodin and Smith to come back in...it is concerning.

I just hope whoever comes in can drill the side on closing teams out, scrape some draws and pray that FG, Cambridge, MK and Morecambe can somehow be shitter than us.

If we can limp over the line, hopefully the new guy can sweep up this absolute shower of a season.

Agreed. Its awful. Nathan has slipped into that mode aswell now

Robinson has absolutely fucked us over this season, relegated us most likely with the absolute shower of shots he signed because his personal pro meant he couldn’t do his job properly and recruit like a professional, shame we can’t sue him for the pay out and his wages for this season back as he absolutely phoned it in.

Resigned to relegation, actually don’t expect us to do much next season in league 2 as we have most of this squad under contract and they are so s**t that they will lose regularly in that division, hopefully promotion back to league one 2024/25 season though.

I wasn't at the game today people, not sure how to keep positive after those who were there and watching on iFollow. It just seems that KR has left us with a shell shocked team of individual players who certainly do not know what the plot is, to which is certainly lost. Not sure if I could handle relegation after 5 years on the up, albeit the last 18 months of total mismanagement. However, it is what it is, I will support the team from Yorkshire, but my heart is Oxford Utd. I am just deflated like the rest of you. Oxford till I die.

Exactly. I read the team sheet before the game and I forgot Karl had been sacked. The only thing that was different was Mcguane replaced with Brannagan.

The sooner Short and co get replaced by a new manager and his team the better.

Leaving him on half way as we put in 12+ corners after going 1-0 down just showed the level we’re operating at. Don’t care if they leave 2 up or even 3 - give them the problem to think about and put your players most likely to score from a header, in the box!! Jesus!!

So many little excuses and caveats to things that don’t deserve one. Needs to be called what it is - amateur hour from top to bottom.
