I’d rather the right man be in place for Monday morning (a full week for Morecambe away) with a few extra interviews this week than rushing it through for a tough game versus Derby.

The fact we are being linked with names like Nathan Jones & Mark Warburton shows how silly people were to brush aside the idea there was no-one capable to replace KR from October last year.

Either of them would be WOW appointments for League One.

Then the likes of Critchley, Richardson, Appleton, Manning would also be exciting appointments.

Would Warburton be a wow appointment? Of all the names mentioned him and Manning would be bottom of the list.

It’s interesting that no one has mentioned wanting Bonner from Cambridge after all the talk in the past about him being a good replacement. I think that just shows how quickly football can change for a manager to go from a good manager to a average/bad manager.

What I will say is that it does seem like the club are carrying out a proper process in finding the next manager and in taking a bit longer seem to want to make sure they make the right appointment for the club long term rather than just the short term.

Only problem with Nathan Jones is we all know we are keeping him active until he returns to Luton.

Not been told to keep quiet. Was busy travelling to Man City yesterday.
Also not been much to update past couple days.
On Monday I said I’d be stunned if not announced before the weekend.
Last Friday, it was down to 4. Was couple meetings over weekend including a full board meeting. Was expecting them to make final decision and maybe offer the job on Monday.
There’s been a couple more interviews since the start of the week though.
Does this suggest that the board can’t agree on their preferred candidate..?

Indecision? Surely not.

To be fair it may just be that some they asked to come in for a chat said no but have now made themselves available. Being the nice guys we are, we can put things on hold to leave no stone unturned.

The name hardly ever mentioned in the past week or two is Buckingham. We’re delaying this enough now that actually waiting for him to finish in Mumbai may as well be a consideration.

Have to say, I hope not. He has not exactly endeared himself to many people has he

I have to say I don’t think Michael Appleton is going to get the job. I hope I’m wrong, because we’ve seen what he can do with a good budget. It will be sad briefly, but whoever gets the job will get my 100% backing.

For League 1? Yes for me. Just my opinion.

Appleton smashed through the 45% barrier on Yellows Forum poll, nearest challenger is Richardson, just over 14%.

I agree. Why would Nathan Jones want a possible relegation from L1 to L2 on his CV?
He seems to have a first love, Luton. He might well wait and take a sabbatical until Luton have a managerial vacancy again.
Im sure he’d be aiming higher than L1 and may well think he has unfinished business at Luton.
After Southampton, a job at PL might be too much to expect. Saints never wanted him in the first place
A challenge maybe saves us from relegation will look good in his CV

Have there been any rumours about Richardson being interviewed? He's not been mentioned much on here as a likely candidate but did a great job with Wigan.
