Still can't quite believe Joseph missed that chance. It was just about my first thought when I woke up. :(
I think he’s a very reactive striker, so think he thought that the defender was going to touch the ball so by the time the ball arrived at his feet he was stretching to get to it.

Personally I’m not that impressed with him. Yes, does a lot of running about etc, but it seems counterproductive.

I can't see yh current situation improving with KR in charge I'm also not expecting much from the injured players when they come back because you just know players like baldock can't stay fit as good as he is as a striker fitness wise he's a busted flush

I don't want to get on the KR out bus yet but I think it's getting close

Last night was clueless. KR is taking a half decent squad backwards. I thought the podcast was very revealing. The better managers these days are bright and very well organised. KR came across as not particularly bright, full of chat and completely chaotic. I don't care how 'passionate' he is about the club. His CV suggests he's a reasonable L1 coach, but he's not good enough for a club with Championship aspirations. He's reaching the end with us imo. Time for him to go.
Is it coming to the end of the road for KR the team is P**s poor no pace no goals in the side no organisation nothing this team has gone back wards and the board whoever they are needs to sort this dross out ASAP

Didn’t even waste a tenner on iFollow, knew we would lose and not score, right on both counts.

I was pretty certain we wouldn’t score but did waste a tenner, as the game went on was starting to get hopeful of a backs to the wall point, which would of been both creditable and also showed where we are this season. Never thought we would equalise but then with our one move with genuine attacking quality we should of.

It’s only September but the hope has been drained from most of our fan base, that’s pretty damning of how bad the summer transfer window went.

Yes, it’s depressing to witness how confidence is draining away and depression taking its place. Even some of our most optimistic fans seem to be moving into the “realism” camp where it is acknowledged this manager is NOT GOOD ENOUGH. The atmosphere in the stands is as bad as I’ve known it. Last night was a good example. We are being flattened by clueless and chaotic tactics. Signing a new contract, Cam was sold a pup and he must be regretting the decision.
Please move the manager on .
Before it’s too late.

From KR’s take on last nights game:

“They’ve rode their luck more than we did, I don’t remember them missing a really good chance.’

He was obviously at a different game and didn’t see Easty’s save and the two other glaring misses from Azaz to start with

He’s a f**king clown. Plymouth we’re miles ahead of us on the football pitch. I’m glad it was only 1-0 could of been 5/6-0 if we stole a point last night I’d of been delighted, but the reality is we are going backwards, and only one person to blame for all of that. Yep KR!!!

Very similar to the April game. Thought we defended well. I’m not going down the ‘end of days’ route, really some of you are such drama queens with ‘ your pivotal’ games in September narrative.

Plymouth are a very decent outfit. They’ve not let in a goal at Home Park yet this season! They will. end up top 6, strengthened from last season, look at their front players ..

Fit firing wingers and strikers would have made a big difference tonight to us. Thought it was very even for most of the game.

Seddon, Cam Bran ( yes him), Bate, Bodin very very disappointing.

Anderson should not have been anywhere near the bench, massively unfit still.

McGuane head and shoulders the best of the bunch. Followed by Long, very good.

No giving up on the ghost here.
After 24 pages, a balanced post without the hysteria. Thank goodness.

Indeed.

A very poor game for the spectator last night but ultimately it came down to two moments, the goal for Plymouth that just sneaked into the corner and our glaring miss from 2 yards out.

Whilst Plymouth had more of the game, they were very poor in front of goal too. A very weird game where Plymouth could have had 4 or 5 had they had their shooting boots on, but it could also have ended 1-0 to Oxford had Easty got his fingertips to the ball and we hadn’t missed a glaring open goal after a great ball from Long.

It’s not great, but apart from a few teams at either end of the table the rest of us are all within a few points of each other, so hardly a disaster.

I thought Plymouth looked bang average. They were certainly more cohesive than us but I’d say they were little more than ponderous in possession - they didn’t need to be anymore.

Trouble is, we are so desperately slow at moving the ball/bodies that you don’t have to be very good to defend against us.

For the life of me I cannot understand Henry at RWB. He isn’t quick, doesn’t really tackle and is defensively all over the place when having to drop into a back 5. If i can see it, how come the manager can’t?

We won very few first and second balls in the midfield third, again - hardly a surprise is it with 5’8 Lewis Bate in there though.

I fear the end is nigh with Robinson, Short, Mous and Brown. We continue to concede the same goals and we continue to receive the same bile/‘poor us’ crap post match. To me, it feels so similar to when Wilder was on his way out and when Atkins left. It’s become stale and the apathy amongst supporters is growing.

I fully expect a sub 7,500 crowd on Saturday and a cesspit of an atmosphere if we get beat.

Robinson has done an admirable job throughout his tenure but now, could well be the time for a fresh set of eyes and a clear message from a new manager.

The thing is, to be a side challenging at the top we’ve got to take points from games like this against some of the better sides, or at the very least have given them a real game. We were fortunate it was only 1-0 I’m sad to say. Aside from a fairly gritty effort we offered nothing, 1 shot on target was it? in 90 mins!

Yes we have players out but so do all clubs and we can only hope those coming back make a big difference. The real worry is that if they don’t we are in huge trouble! And in any case we’ve proven in the first 8 games the squad is no where near good enough or strong enough, as some of our back up players who over the course of a season are always going to be regularly needed, have completely looked out of sorts and just not up to it.

We are miles away at the moment from being a side and a squad that we can be confident will give anyone in this league a run for their money week in and week out. It’s so disappointing what’s happened after what we had last season. We’re a shadow of that team a few months on, yet spent loads more!!

I'm sorry but KR is talking absolute tosh. Argyle were sharper to every ball, so much quicker on the turnovers and transition phases, took quick free kicks and throws that nearly caught us out and frankly should have scored 4 or 5. We huffed and puffed, yes we had the odd nice moment and should have scored through Joseph, but we were nowhere near their levels in terms of pace, movement, attacking threat and looking dangerous. The fact they only scored one is a miracle, we were hiding behind our hands every time they attacked. We fans tried to sing and support but their fans (drums included) made a good noise.
Agree - Argyle had options all over the pitch whereas our players were slow, cumbersome at times and out played for the most.
No I'm not confident we will be any better when our 'stars' return - we still don't have the balance in the squad or key players in positions or importance! And KR will never see that! Defensive midfielder, wingbacks with pace and a striker to hold the ball up were desperately needed and he didn't get them.
I've supported KR all the way so far but I'm beginning to realise how limited he is a as a coach. And it will hurt our season.

All this talk of replacing Robinson is pie in the sky

He has got himself into a position where he more or less runs this club. With the ownership problem not resolved and any decision makers overseas he will just carry on and feed them the story that the transfer window was different this year and the 3 players we desperately wanted fell through, but don’t worry it’s not long until the next window He will then tell them as he tell us “ Judge me when I have my best team fit and available”

I think it was OX14 who revealed that he may have been offered a two year extension back in the summer, not sure if that went ahead.

So unless we get relegated, which is a distinct possibility because we can’t score goals, I think he will be here next year.

It could even be that he remains then because it’s the Stadium that is the all important thing for our owners and it doesn’t matter where we are or who is in charge of the team if that falls through because there will be no club.

We are looking at this from a slightly different perspective than the owners, we want success as do they but their ultimate goal is the Stadium and if we get relegated and the Stadium gets the green light my bet is that they will be ok with that because they are looking much longer term

Final reflections. I used to think Karl should leave the interviews to someone else as he comes across as chaotic, lacking clarity, detached from reality, and is clearly not an orator. But based on his recruitment and selection, that’s Karl full stop!
