I’m not questioning you as I know everyone has a different opinion on how we played and I’m certainly not trying to rub you or anyone up the wrong was. I was a tad concerned with his playing form our midfield but to be fair some of his kicking whilst going long was at least staying on the pitch. But his defence tonight was poor but that’s sounds like I’m making excuses.
McGuane aside the rest we’re ooor.
Without us having different opinions, it would be very dull. However, we are all surely of the agreed opinion that tonight was worrying and further exposed obvious flaws.

Page 24... I've not seen the score. Dare I look? How many did we lose by?

I can handle that in a central defender.

I can't in an attacking midfielder.
If a CB just hoofs it that isn’t the way to play football, hoof it and it can go anywhere which is not the way to defend unless under pressure and was he under pressure to much? Letting there man get behind the defence with only last ditch tackling saving us, sorry but that’s not good.

Very similar to the April game. Thought we defended well. I’m not going down the ‘end of days’ route, really some of you are such drama queens with ‘ your pivotal’ games in September narrative.

Plymouth are a very decent outfit. They’ve not let in a goal at Home Park yet this season! They will. end up top 6, strengthened from last season, look at their front players ..

Fit firing wingers and strikers would have made a big difference tonight to us. Thought it was very even for most of the game.

Seddon, Cam Bran ( yes him), Bate, Bodin very very disappointing.

Anderson should not have been anywhere near the bench, massively unfit still.

McGuane head and shoulders the best of the bunch. Followed by Long, very good.

No giving up on the ghost here.

Meh, plenty were moaning about him last season.
If McGinty is not ready, Stevens should not have gone. He may not have been playing to his best last season, but he was, and still is, the better of two if it is a case of him or Eastwood. I was amazed to see the latter get the nod and assumed when we signed McGinty, he was already the next Cat (the better one, Roy Burton as opposed to Peter Bonetti), rather than WiP! What is Robinson's thinking? If Stevens had to go out, we had to bring a keeper in that was ready, and good enough to play League 1, and play from the back. Shambles.

It’s really hard to take any positives from the performances so far this season apart from maybe derby away first game, where we looked half decent in spells. The transfer window was bad, the recruitment of players was done too late in pre season and they are either injured or unfit! We send an improving, talented young goalkeeper in stevens out on loan and keep Eastwood who’s best days are behind him. KR is playing a formation where we haven’t the quality in the wing back roles to play it. KR also says the younger players aren’t ready to play, but goodrnham has looked a better player than bodin so far this season and I would rather have Golding than Henry in the RWB position. There‘s no balance to the squad and the recruitment has been poor so surely the blame has to lie with KR.

Yes I assumed McGinty would be more ready, certainly

Speaking as someone who was actually there to witness that clutterf**k of a performance, I find Chris Williams report an insult. I realise he is employed by the club but it’s so far away from the truth it’s fiction.
Science fiction was always his speciality in story writing.

Joseph going to regret that miss...
To be fair he was stretching to get to the ball, but to me he’s not good enough. I actually think Goodrham woukd be better.

Bodin was shite tonight, and has been all season so far.

We are a poor team/squad. Karl’s got a lot to answer for.

Hmm
What is the point of Bodin. Absokute dross game after game
We create very little.
Eastwood concedes the same goal pretty much every game
Plymouth looked average. If they are promotion favourites were missing a trick this season.
Plymouth looked quite good to me.

Deserved defeat - thought we were pathetic overall and Argyle full value for the three points

OBSERVATIONS

Findlay can’t pass the ball.
Brown looks absolutely f*****d.
Brannagan anonymous for large periods.
Bate looks lightweight and uninterested.
Joseph isolated.
Bodin’s Legs have gone
Henry’s career probably over here after a shocking display.
Eastwood done low down again from 20 yards but it wasn’t right in the corner
We barely won a header in their half.
No fluidity at all in our play and no pace whatsoever.
The team that started that game would get relegated from L1.
Whoever thought it was a good idea to wear those dark shirts is clueless.
Watching it live it appeared that the ball came around one of our players so Eastwood would have seen it very late. Poor defending if you asked me.

We scrapped and kept it tight (with some luck) but other than two breakaway attacks offered next to nothing. Literally no pace or ooomph in this this side, apart from a few moments of class from McGuane it was a painful watch.

Plenty of problems but at the moment a couple stand out. Bodin is non existent, barely touched the ball all season and we have enough problems without carrying someone. He got a new contract on the basis of a good month or two last season, that is looking a mistake.
Eastwood, if you can go wide and low of him enough times from anywhere within 30 yards he won’t get to one eventually, hasn’t been up to it since he came back from injury just before the Covid break, this needs to be his last season, give the Irish lad a go now.

Hopefully Anderson is the reverse Gino Van Kessel, look absolutely shocking in a brief sun cameo but go on to be fine. Although he looked like the closest he had ever come to playing right back was in a past life though so little bit worried there.
Agree with you about Anderson.

One of the problems is yes we assume but we don't know if those missing will be any good. ATM we have no wingers which is difficult to believe let alone those who can play wingback. We had Whyte, Holland and Sykes last year.. younger and fitter and frustrating in equal terms.

Just back, I was there and I'm gonna say it was so poor on all fronts.....
-No real thought to the play, endless long balls that Joseph rarely won or flicked on to no one there
-Agree, Bodin is a complete waste of space, never picked up any flick ons and did very little
-I like Henry but in no universe is he a wingback! No athleticism, no pace, can't tackle. Age is catching up with him now.
-Disagree about Cam, he puts in so much unseen work and is organising all the time. He works so hard off the ball but can't do it all himself! Needs some proper help in there! It's so obvious yet KR doesn't see it!!
-Bate showed some decent flashes but was anonymous too much.
-umm how the hell did Joseph miss that?😳
-Easty is not a sweeper keeper, his distribution is pants! Their keeper was so much quicker in his release, maybe because he had pacy options in front of him!
-I thought Longy, Findlay and Brown did ok but too many of their basic skills are just not good enough at crucial times-tackling/heading/positioning all poor!
-Seddon tried hard but had little service, a couple of good covering tackles but faded.
Subs tried hard but other than Browne who do we have to come on? Plymouth could bring on three strikers!!

I keep coming back to KR's abject failure to build a proper balanced squad. He can dress it up anyway he wants (and he will try!) but his choices not to bring in proper wingbacks, a tackling defensive midfielder and an experienced striker as back up will lose him his job, sooner rather than later. Poor evening all round, not helped by two bloody diversions on the way home!🤬

Last night was clueless. KR is taking a half decent squad backwards. I thought the podcast was very revealing. The better managers these days are bright and very well organised. KR came across as not particularly bright, full of chat and completely chaotic. I don't care how 'passionate' he is about the club. His CV suggests he's a reasonable L1 coach, but he's not good enough for a club with Championship aspirations. He's reaching the end with us imo. Time for him to go.

Still can't quite believe Joseph missed that chance. It was just about my first thought when I woke up. :(
