We've got to stop arsing around with it at the back. We are playing ourselves into trouble and sooner or later will do a man utd v Brentford.
It worked when we had mcnally and Atkinson who could bring the ball out and up the pitch, but moore and findlay aren't that sort of player.

McGuane is immense. What a player. He needs to have the freedom to get more forward. Outstanding tonight. Browne was good too. The rest were poor.

Robinson talked utter rubbish. Boos were cos we were crap not cos of the score. We haven't looked the better side in any of our league games. We've been crap in all of them. Today was probably the best but we were clueless until Tyler and the lad from Swansea came on.

We can't make anymore subs as we've used all 3 instances
Off course I thought it was one on for the first sub and two come on at the next substitution d I didn’t realise that we used 3 subs for the individual substitutions.
So it makes me wonder if Jones is fit or carrying an injury.

Playing/carrying it out from the back is no longer an option for us...and it has been at times a very effective outlet for us over the last 3 seasons. We no longer have the personnel to do it and consequently we look nervous, rushed and ponderous all at the same time.

In fact, ponderous describes a lot of what we do badly. Once we play with more pace and urgency, we look better, but half the time we just look scared of our own shadows

I remember back in the really dark days (Lg 1 to Lg 2 to Conference plummet) that we got to the point where players were scared to try anything in case it went wrong and the crowd got on their back again....which we frequently did. It felt like a self fulfilling prophecy at times.

Not saying we're anything near that, but half the time the players do look scared/apprehensive to try anything expansive in case it doesn't work....why? And it is doubly baffling considering we know how talented and creative some of those players can be...
I couldn't disagree with anything here - all good points. To add to this, after Lincoln scored, I noticed how fragile we were despite the fans' general support being good. This is not a good sign and raises questions about what is happening as much off the pitch, as on it.

Looking at it from a sympathetic perspective, we've traditionally started pretty slow the last few seasons and have a style which often takes some time to build up rhythm.
No club with any manager five seasons into their reign should accept that. Longevity and sticking with your man is meant to avoid that sort of thing. That it’s regular is unforgivable and a complete failure of his management. People don’t have to turn on the guy but they do need to start holding him to account and not being swept up in cheap compliments about how big their willies are. It’s not good enough.

Saturday is massive. I hope that is when we finally show up and slam a few goals past the opposition.

I actually think we played our best game this season tonight and deserved at least a draw, if not, a win.

Lincoln’s first goal was totally against the run of play. Not seen how it came about with their striker (Hopper) having a free header, but thought it initially started with poor play by Bate in the middle of the park. Actually think he had a poor game and felt he would have been better on the left side as he always tended to turn inside to get on his left foot, but then lacked the strength to withhold a 50/50 tussle. Their second goal was a great finish, but again we lost a 50/50 tackle in the middle of the pitch this time by Long and being out of position.

Second half the players showed more passion/desire so it was a shame that we didn’t get a goal within the first 15mins of the second half as I think we would have gone on to get a draw/win.

The most frustrating thing about the whole situation comes back to Karl bringing in too many injury prone players, and then again bemoaning our luck with injuries in the post match interview. And for him to say we’ve been the best team in all games this season so far is beyond unbelievable! Yes, if we’d gone at Derby second half as we ended the first half then I think we would have got a draw if not a win, but he decided to sit back and time waste where possible which allowed them to gain confidence/go on to get the win. Cambridge we scrapped a 1-0 win, but we were lucky to get that, and again played poorly. Again Saturday against Bristol Rovers we played poorly and deserved what we got e.g. nothing.

Coming back to the injury situation, again, because of his desire to sign injury prone players it now looks like we could lose Browne for period of time, so add to this list, Wildschut, Baldock and Murphy the gamble isn’t paying off, but the blame clearly lies with Karl.

I think what makes the start of this season so frustrating is we really weren't that far away last season (nor the previous two before that). Almost to a man every fan could see we needed 2 new full backs, more muscle in midfield, more pace out wide, and a different style of striker as support/competition for Matty Taylor. We've arguably achieved one of those with the signing of Joseph... but the rest haven't been addressed. We've got a worse squad than we had last season. We've gone backwards. So frustrating.

If you want to get out of this League Tony Pulis your man . Not pretty big competitive players that will grind out wins. Or lovely football (not happened) yet and miss out year after year . And I think this could be a long season

I looked on with incredulity at a couple of occasions when every OUFC player bar Findlay, Moore and Eastwood were as far forward as they could go and in a line abreast! What were they thinking?

Why should it be that every time Findlay got the ball, my nerves jangled? Why every time the ball went back to Eastwood was it then hoofed forward with little direction or purpose?
Why do we play Taylor as a lone forward?

Why does Robinson talk so much B*****s?

At least Nathan attempted to ask some more serious questions this evening, was never going to get a straight or even comprehensible answer, but it made a change.

Yes, fair play to Nathan.

How many meaningful saves did the Lincoln keeper make?

Long was at fault for both goals

MM looks good in that defensive role because he has so much more time in there. Get a bloody imposing holding midfielder in and get McGuane higher up the pitch with CB.

Taylor was isolated, again!

I’m sorry but Robinson is losing it. Been the better team in every game/dominated first half tonight/injuries to those injured are just unlucky.

All of the above is utter crap and if he thinks the supporters are just going to accept that ‘it’s football’ then he must be an ostrich.

This is Robinson’s squad.

- Robinson recruited Jones, who’s played next to no football for 3 years and is yet to be trusted to start a game.
- Robinson signed Baldock, despite knowing his injury record over a long period of time.
- Robinson signed Browne, who he knew had chronic knee injuries previously.
- Robinson signed Murphy who managed 10 (TEN!) games last season.

We’ve got no competition for a full back in Long, who has had one outstanding season at this level. Beyond that, he’s been bang average and in fairness to him, he’s probably playing to his natural level right now.

Seddon (who I thought was ok tonight) was recruited by Robinson, before being unceremoniously dropped by him last season, only to then get the nod again this season! He’s not good enough.

The excuses must stop.

I’m just going to say the positives, because, why not.

We were much better second half.

Joseph looked good again when he came on. As did Brown. I’d assume they’ll both start next game.

McGuane was absolutely superb. What a player he can be.
Out of all of that McGuane had 90 minutes and did exceptional.
Why so late in the obvious substitutions.
Yes we were better 2nd half but the damage had been done in the first half and Robinson said we weee all over them in the 1st half.

Oi! Walking football teams are generally better organised than the shower we saw tonight. And have more pace.
Paul, I actually think we played better tonight compared to the other performances. May be your initial judgement is based on the expectancy that we would beat Lincoln at home, and obviously the end result.
