Update:

Atkinson: still on sensitivity training course.

Caleb from Clarkson’s Farm: getting the barley in.

Lambert : watching Northampton Town on catch-up.

Drummer from Radiohead: pulled out, club not offering enough money.

Morse: Keeping quiet.

Fingers crossed on Morse then. Might have some clues on how to get out of a relegation dogfight.

Playing Devil's advocate here - in what sense is Appleton in his prime? Age, success, motivation?

His record is, at best, mixed: three early appointments that, for different reasons, didn't come off - success with us and a good season with Lincoln, followed by perceived failure at Blackpool. That's a mixed bag by anyone's reckoning. I'm sure there are a lot fans at various clubs raising an eyebrow at his potential appointment.

I'm certainly not saying that he couldn't so the job and I wouldn't welcome him back but on the other hand, you can't ignore the 'noise' that accompanies him.
Happy to respond. By prime I mean methods.....nothing has changed dramatically since he left, so that his methods will not work as previously. Hopefully he will have learnt some more so make less errors. The one thing I would be critical about from the time was the way players were not publicly supported sometimes and actually pushed some out when they clearly had a lot more to offer (eg, Hylton and Wright). Particularly Hylton was not his flavour and deserved more than the poor contract offered. Like I say, hopefully he has learnt.

Re his record. Anyone who is worth his salt and knows about football, cannot take into account those 3 early appointments at basket case clubs, where he had no time, which is why we took a chance on him. Blackpool was a tough job 2nd time, low budget and only 6 months and one transfer window, so you really judge him on that?

So his record from our point of view, can only be looked at where he has had time to establish himself, and they are Oxford and Lincoln.

The other 'noise' seems to be around the "it can never be as good 2nd time around", which is absolute horse radish.

Equally though there is no guarantee whatsoever that he would be as good 2nd time around. MAPP doesn’t have a magic wand which he waves and automatically guarantees he’ll be mustard here again.

My overwhelming thought is how the f**k are these guys multi billionaires, they appear to be incapable of making a timely decision. Nero fiddles while Rome burns springs to mind.
Jesus appoint somebody, there is no absolutely right or wrong candidate of those rumoured to be in the frame. The only wrong decision is delay on so many levels.

Rodrick Stevenson has to be some anagram. Dude has been on Twitter 5 minutes and most of his information is stating the bloody obvious or confirming things that have already happened.

But there hasn't been delay - if we hear tomorrow, that is.

You don’t come across many ‘Rodricks’ these days, I admire the creator of the account for searching popular names of 1977
