Why? I for one will fully back whoever our new manager is, there seems to be some sort of vendetta against Fowler.
I think there are two elements to Fowler:

The first is more personal, and fueled by the kind of negative suggestions and implications that this forum thrives on - is he only here because he's Karl's mate; is he only here because Tiger owes him something; is he only here to plug his academy into a club; is that at the expense of our own young talent; etc,etc

The second though is a more pragmatic view - is he going to actually be any good as a manager? His spells managing abroad have not been bursting with success stories; he hasn't been able to secure a gig in the UK, despite his profile; his academy and other business interests may impact upon his time and focus;

I think some posters are focusing heavily on the first element, perhaps overly so (who knows whether any of these have any truth in them?), BUT I still think the second element probably contains enough concerns for him to rank well below some of the other contenders, so don't think he represent the ultimate wow appointment to get the fanbase rocking again

Unless I’m mistaken it looks like @Leysboy bet was placed on 31st December! So I don’t think it’s his bet that has shortened the odds.

I’m not saying that Warburton will get the job, just commenting on the odds coming in a little.
31 December 23:00 is when the book closes, not when the bet was struck.

I guess BetVictor have picked that date as it's so far away that they assume we will have appointed someone by then, which is a pretty reasonable assumption for most clubs...

Even ppg doesn’t really help unless you’ve got the context of expectations, budget, performance metrics and external influences (injuries etc) to sit alongside not to mention character, recruitment record, ability to work within a team etc etc
I'm sure some analytics geek will come up with an xppg v appg ratio.

How long has he been here helping out as a attacking coach (and if that's not what he's doing, then WTF is he doing strutting round the training ground with the senior squad, dressed in OUFC gear)?

How many goals have our forwards scored in that time?

What is going to miraculously change, should he get a shot at the managers job?

I rest my case m'lud.

Isn’t there also a set period when they will pay out on the caretaker being considered as permanent? Didn’t we have this scenario play out when the board took around 3 months to appoint KR?

Because of the inactivity by Messrs Ferguson and Williams in November/ December or even before that, in not getting rid of KR we have left ourselves with a real dilemma .
First and foremost we need to survive and maybe that takes a different sort of manager than one who can look to build a good squad fit for promotion to the Championship.
Im hoping that we can get a decent new manager bounce whoever takes charge but some of the names mentioned are perfectly reasonable but not so sure in a relegation dog fight.
Couldn't we just get Big Sam in until the end of the season and start again?

Why is it that Wycombe, in a far less precarious position than us, can announce a new manager within hours of Ainsworth leaving?
We, on the other hand have to supply hints, rumours, lies and innuendo which the papers then pick up on to have any sort of information or feedback about who the club are supposedly interested in!

He's their ex player and old buddy, it would have been like us giving it to Mous before he left.

12 games I believe, I might be wrong but I've got a vague memory of being paid out when Mickey Lewis did it after Wilder left. Don't think one particular bookie had paid attention to just how many games he'd had.

I placed the bet yesterday afternoon at 66/1, obviously others have bet on him, because he went from 33/1 - 20/1.
