With such a massive turn round of players there will inevitably be a period of taking time to gel, so I expect a relatively poor start. How short the gel time is will determine how well we go. Expect a just into the top half type of position for the season. If Robinson has chosen extremely well we might even have a stab at the play-offs.

I know.

PC. I feel frustrated when you continue to insult me. What I would really appreciate would be a different tone for 18/19. Thank you.

Its all about you isn`t it?
It is just a minority board in a dark corner of the internet, how you read and interpret words is down to you.
I suggest you need to man up a bit. Thanks. :)

I lost to why you want to get involved. I would suggest you mind your own business.

Freedom of speech. Public forum. Suck it up snowflake. Telling me to "jog on" and "mind my own business" is a sure fire way to engender a response.

PS: I am not your "mate" either.

PPS: I think @PC has it spot on. DD. :)

I have no idea how this team will get on.
I have no idea what players the other clubs have signed and how strong they are.
For all i know Accrington could have signed 6 new players and have 6 Liverpool youngsters on loan.
The Barnsley game should be a good pointer for the season.

I dont get "with all the new signings it will take time to gel"

Most team will have significant changes,i can't see any team starting off with the same team as the end of last season.

My expectations are based on
1) Do we have a stronger team than last year (with all the in’s and our)
2) Is the squad well balanced
3) Have we addressed our striker problem
4) Are the coaching staff stronger.

1) We’ve lost Ledson, Rothwell, Ricardinho, Thomas, Kane and a few Van Kessell types
We’ve gained Whyte, Carruthers, Norman, McMahon, Garbutt, Mackie, Browne & Some promising U23’s. Nelson is now fit as is Hall, so overall I think the squad is measurably stronger from what I’ve seen pre season

2) We have a youthful quality left back and added a winger and sorted the right back situation. However, left sided forward (with Hall being injury prone) and central midfield is not as balanced or as deep as it needs to be.

3) No I don’t believe Mackie is the answer and no idea on Browne. I was expecting a proven striker at this level, a’la Lyle Taylor.

4) Definitely 1000% yes!!! I really like KR and think he will be as good as MAPP

As it stands Overall, we should be finishing at least 12th but I think 6th if we sort the striker problem which is massively important. Over to you Tiger!!

Is that the Lyle Taylor who scored 0 goals in 39 appearances for Bournemouth in league one, 2 goals in 20 appearances for Sheffield United in league one and 24 goals in 89 appearances in league one with Wimbledon? 26 goals in 148 games.

Obika has played 212 games at league one and scored 50 goals. Interesting when you put the figures together.

Maybe we already have a proven striker at this level and he's still not good enough for some.

If we buy a decent CM and a striker we should be aiming for play offs as a minimum. Whether we achieve that is dependent on a number of factors but I’m feeling positive.

For me my trust in Tiger will greatly enhanced if he would provide more information regarding finance and plans. It would be even further enhances if this information was realistic and not full of grand wishes. If Tiger did this I think most detractors would be happy..

On the surface of it that's entirely reasonable. When has any chairman ever provided that though?

And why would anyone want to when they would be beaten with it at the first deviation?

I think that’s totally skewing the figures. Lyle Taylor played for Bournemouth at 20 and Sheff Utd at 23 and wasn’t their main striker so many appearances off the bench. Also, if Obika is better then why weren’t Championship clubs sniffing around him? They were Lyle Taylor btw and he ended up at a high budget L1 club in Charlton.
It’s not that I wouldn’t give Obika a chance. I’ve been vocal in saying how well he’s doing in pre season but all I know is how he’s performed for us in league matches and we need a step up.

Solid defence
Flirt with play-offs.
Finish 9th or 10th which would be a good achievement for Kr

No, I'm not skewing anything.

Jon Obika is a year younger and he's not played one game outside of the championship or league one and that is where all of his goals have come from. He is a proven striker at this level. Is he good enough for the championship? Probably not. Is Lyle Taylor? Probably not either, as far as I was aware only Charlton and Sunderland were sniffing around, if a championship club were interested he would have gone there but he never.

Lyle Taylor is older and has played a lot of games at Non League level and in Scotland where a lot of his goals have come from. His best career spell has been at Wimbledon where is best season for goals by a considerable amount was in league two. So the argument that he is proven at this level is not correct.

Obika deserves a bit more respect from our fan base in my opinion.

What @The Hawk said. Here are my predictions for the 5-game blocks. 60 points, flirting with play-offs. A couple of very sticky months and a couple of very good ones. (I'll see if I can figure out a way to share the file if anyone wants to have a look themselves)

Hard to predict until all the signings are in but I think we are two or three first teamers from the play offs

In my view, as it stands with the current squad we would be looking at 9th to 12th depending on injuries. If we signed a half decent striker and another AM I think we could make the play offs. But its so hard to predict as many have said we just don't know how other teams are going to gel and perform. All we can do is worry about ourselves. Other teams just don't matter.
We will beat some teams that on paper we should not we will also drop points to teams we should beat, but the so will everyone else.
I know that I am really excited about this season because I think we are on the verge of something special. And praying we finish above Pompey.
