All this talk of replacing Robinson is pie in the sky

He has got himself into a position where he more or less runs this club. With the ownership problem not resolved and any decision makers overseas he will just carry on and feed them the story that the transfer window was different this year and the 3 players we desperately wanted fell through, but don’t worry it’s not long until the next window He will then tell them as he tell us “ Judge me when I have my best team fit and available”

I think it was OX14 who revealed that he may have been offered a two year extension back in the summer, not sure if that went ahead.

So unless we get relegated, which is a distinct possibility because we can’t score goals, I think he will be here next year.

It could even be that he remains then because it’s the Stadium that is the all important thing for our owners and it doesn’t matter where we are or who is in charge of the team if that falls through because there will be no club.

We are looking at this from a slightly different perspective than the owners, we want success as do they but their ultimate goal is the Stadium and if we get relegated and the Stadium gets the green light my bet is that they will be ok with that because they are looking much longer term
Replacing Robinson is, very much, not "pie in the sky". He may well have set himself up as the man in charge but, he does not have the money or free access to funds. The stated objective of the directors/finance is to achieve Championship status in short order (and to be pushing for more) The stadium is a key factor in this as, without Championship football, it would stand half empty most weeks. Getting relegated is not acceptable and would be seen as a direct sleight on the reputations of the owners.
If the next few games continue in the same vein I, for one, cannot see KR lasting beyond October.

From KR’s take on last nights game:

“They’ve rode their luck more than we did, I don’t remember them missing a really good chance.’

He was obviously at a different game and didn’t see Easty’s save and the two other glaring misses from Azaz to start with
In those first 20+mins they were carving us open with ease and should have been 4 nil up.

After 24 pages, a balanced post without the hysteria. Thank goodness.
No matter how you gloss it it’s been extremely poor so far, especially after all the expectancy and wondering when or if it’ll change which isn’t looking that promising.

I know they wanted Championship football asap but they have bigger fish to fry. I was tongue in cheek to say he could still be here if we get relegated but I stand by what I said for this season. He will still be here for another transfer window but when it looks like we can’t get promoted March time he could be on his way.
Still feel the Stadium is the be all and end all for these guys and we should all hope for a good outcome because if not there is no club

In a perverse way it is frustrating that the scoreline didn't reflect the gap between the 2 teams yesterday. A big thumping from someone could make the board take notice

A team of too old, not good enough& injury prone. What do people expect, us to be running away with the league. No chance ,& I can see it certainly getting worse before it gets any better.

That’s why I don’t listen to his post match interviews anymore

I'm certainly not feeling as negative as most of you on here, we lost to a decent Plymouth side who have yet to concede at home despite some tough fixtures (Barnsley, Bolton & PBoro). Not the end of the world, but I've also already accepted this season is one of consolidation and we won't be making a promotion push so perhaps that helps.

However, I must admit I am absolutely sick to death of watching Bodin stroll about the entire game, attempting lazy flicks to no one in particular, running face first into the defender and losing possession, or shooting when there are better passes on. I don't know what's happened to him over the summer but he's been bloody useless all season and O'Donkor did more in his 60 minutes v Burton than Bodin has all season. At this point I would genuinely rather we used O'Donkor/Goodrham/Spasov as our attackers than Bodin.

I haven't heard anything more about it so I would say that one was just a rumour going round the training ground. I'm hoping it's not true anyways.

I posted earlier to the effect that "the owners" may have analysed the makeup of the league this season and concluded that the competition was stronger than we were.

Now, we could go to war with with these clubs, but an equally sound tactic would be to let them slug it out this season and come back stronger in 2023/24. By then SB should be decided and more focus can be given to on the field matters - I think it's fairly clear that there is a large void between board and pitch which they could remedy if they wished to do so.

It's all very well heaping the blame for everything that is wrong on Robinson - it is after all what he is there for - but there are others at the club that are equally culpable for the situation we find ourselves in today.

Agree, Bodin has been very poor in all the games I've seen, not really sure what he offers and in what position. That wayward shot last night was dreadful, looked even worse on the screen replay! He runs about slowly and rarely tackles well. He certainly isn't a wing back like Henry isn't, KR 's failure to sign a balanced squad means he has to plug these holes and it's not good enough.
I'm not worried we'll get pulled in to a relegation fight as we'll win some games, but after the promises and hope of last season and the rumours about budgets and signings, KR has wasted this season and his refusal to admit his failings is losing him any credit he had in the bank with the fans.
And yes I know it's been mentioned that he is a club employee but I agree with the comment about the report on the OWS, it's a complete work of fiction! Come on Chris, we're not stupid, we were there and saw it. We matched them? Went about it with intent?! Not what I saw Chris. Yes I get trying to be positive but I saw very little last night to give us hope for the next few weeks.
There's one quite disillusioned supporter here.☹️

Just watches the highlights as there goal was atthe other end to where we were sitting, thought Eastwood should have saved there goal although i praised him earlier

Robinson is by no means safe if results do not improve, he is under pressure right now and that includes results in the cup competitions too, the extremely strong lineup against Orient was fielded for a reason.

We have a really tough month coming up and if we can't beat the "better" sides in the division, after spending more than the majority of them on transfer, the board will have their fingers on the trigger.

Presuming you meant Orient, I'd always thought that was because we were down to the last available fit bodies at the time.

I've never been sure what exactly Bodin offers, though he's a very skilful player and good from a dead ball. He really just had two or three good performances last season, e.g. Bolton at home.

KR had his contract uplifted (in salary) and extended by Tiger about 18 months ago before the big boys gained their controlling interest in the club. He is contracted until the Summer of 2024.

Oops yes, I meant Orient! Edited my post now.

We had plenty of youngsters coming through who did brilliantly against Premier League Crystal Palace. He talked them up before using none of them against League Two Leyton Orient who played their second string side, whilst our main players needed a rest.

I have no doubt it coincided with a chat with the board earlier that day and their expectations for league AND cup.
