I agree, we were a serious no nonsense club under Appleton, and it was a shame Eales couldn’t finance things any further, as given his history with dodgy new owners, MApp decided to move on.

I genuinely believe if the money hadn’t have run out when it did, he would’ve got us to the Championship in the next season or two.

I’d love to see him return, and with serious financial backing, and given time to build, it could be a case of picking up where we left off, with genuine ambition.

If it can’t be MApp though, I’d take a punt on Des Buckingham, a young up and coming manager, who knows the club.

Exciting times!
He almost did it with Lincoln within a similar timeframe, so give him time to deliver and he's proven he can produce the goods. However, time isn't something you're given at Championship level.

If Appleton is as good as some are saying should Blackpool be in the relegation zone?
Blackpool have the second smallest wage bill in the Championship, so realistically yes. Anyone who takes them away from the bottom 3 is technically overachieving.

Mapp has a good history of performing within budget (ignore his early jobs at clubs with ownership problems).

We gave him a top 3 budget in League Two and he finished 2nd.

We gave him a top 10 budget in League One and he finished 8th.

Lincoln budget was around 16th, he finished 15th, then 5th in the playoffs and left them in 17th.

It would be interesting to see what he can achieve with a top 6 budget and a blank canvas next season. Especially if we lose 2 of big spending Wednesday, Derby and Ipswich.

I couldn’t disagree more.
A few of the players are not good enough and others are low on confidence and playing in the wrong positions.
The priority is a keeper. Eastwood and McGinty have not been up to scratch and in the short term we need Stevens back. Bring back Taylor as I’m sure he will fare better under another manager.
Brannagan will be better under Appleton.
If we get any kind of bounce on Saturday we have the momentum to go forward.
I personally would love Appleton back especially with Buckingham as his assistant, on the understanding that Buckingham gets the chance if Appleton leaves later.
This to me would be an exciting pairing that will get the yellows going again. I think the supporters would welcome them to the club.
I don’t think it would be long to unravel the mess left behind by Robinson
Totally agree. Some are suggesting a complete re-build but we do have some good players that are just low on confidence, they had clearly lost faith in KR so I expect a bounce back

I was gutted when Appleton left but it’s understandable when you are offered to double your wages. All is forgiven Michael, squeeze those big guns into an Oxford polo again and take us up the league!

Discount Critchely too then because QPR are free falling towards relegation. I don't think being in the relegation zone, or near it, necessarily equals incompetent manager. In some cases, yes, but a bit like Robinson, I think Appleton has enough credit in the bank to be excused an indifferent season.
More indifferent seasons than good ones if you look at his career. Just saying.

Lennon is a vile scumbag, not even basing that on his connections to beast fc, I actually know people who were close to him.

Some of the stuff they told me he got up to is not something we want at OUFC.

How would any of your sectarian friends know what Neil Lennon is like, since the closest most of them will have come to socialising with him will be burning his effigy on a bonfire

So you know all my friends, you know they are sectarian ?

Maybe it's you who seems to have a wee problem, I know lot's about Lennon, where he lives, where he drinks.

I could go on...

Not a chance our board conduct a full shortlist and interview process and go with Murty. I doubt his name has even been mentioned at board level, just his agent pushing stories trying to get him a managers job.
