been up at the jr with my old man in EAU - where he's been since yesterday-wifi there is not great ( pretty crap tbh).... most asked Q by the old man (not in the best condition atm) 7 times today - have we got a new manager yet?

it appears not (yet) then
All best to your old man Sarge. Same old I'm afraid. I guess most of us expected this to be a mess.

I think it’s important to try and understand Tim Williams role in this selection process. He‘s inexperienced in his current role and chose to rely heavily on Robinson where football matters, they appeared to be thick as thieves at times.

So it could be that he’s already quite scarred by his whole experience of being a CEO of a Div3 football club , albeit just for a few months.

From what we know, he’s at the training ground a fair bit and therefore will be working quite closely with the new manager.

You’d think after his experience with Robinson, Williams will be thinking and choosing very carefully who he wants to have that new working relationship with. That person may not be who we as fans would choose from a purely football point of view.

Theyd never appoint someone with limited experience in the precarious position we are in.
WIth the squad he had last season even the clown could have made a success of them.

You clearly don't know our Board or you are being sarcastic.

You don’t suppose for one minute that Messrs Williams and Ferguson have asked KR for his advice on this?
They we’re so pally at the FF and Williams and KR seemed the same when we met them a few weeks back.

I believe KR has said Manning is your man, weren’t they close before KR came here?

Just a thought and not a happy one

If that was the case, Appleton wouldn’t stand a chance, Robinson has always had a bit of a chip on his shoulder where Mapp is concerned. Robinson is very insecure individual.

Sorry to hear that Sarge, hopefully he gets better.

Hope the old man is ok, and nothing serious Sarge.

Like I said earlier, the board are probably in bed now (or 2+ hours ago), so may be that’s why it’s not been announced yet.

And @Yellows1 seems to have win the ITK tag over @Cotswolds Cowboy!! Sorry Cotswold, that’s unless there’s announcement over the next 5+ hours!!
Well time will tell, we might all be wrong, imagine if it was Defoe🤣🤣🤣🤣

This most certainly is entertaining.

Evidently he’s posting what he’s heard as have many more on here although @Scotchegg has been quiet lately as has @UTO
But seems to me there are conflicting bits of information flying around and maybe it isn‘t Mc Cann
Who knows anymore

The conversation I had last week said that 5 people had been interviewed and they were looking to interview the top 2 again this week. No mention was made at that time about others being spoken to. I asked about names and was told that because of the betting market they couldn't risk giving names. I said, "is it safe to say it's MApp and one other". The reply was "no, he's not expected to get a second interview."

I've had a couple of health issues over the last few weeks, and had a day in hospital this week, and surgery likely the week after next. So I haven't posted much and haven't spoken to this individual since the end of last week.

Simply put, I don't know the names of the final 2, or if anyone else spoken to this week has changed the picture. I was leaning towards Grant McCann, but Liam Manning is someone that we would have all loved to have had here if we were a year ago. Heard good things about his coaching style and development of players, but may be burnt by his experience this season.

Like others, I would expect an announcement this week and expected one today - but hopefully tomorrow to get things in place for some huge games coming up.

They also bombed in the playoffs forcing the sales.

I'm sorry, I just don't see how for a supposedly super attractive job, he is the best candidate.

I'm open minded, I wish him all the luck in the world, but I'm not sure exactly which box he rocks for us at this time. Cheap I'm guessing.
Cheapest option came to mind as well.😔

You don’t give a running commentary on a recruitment process. After that though, yes they need to be a lot better
I’d argue that a vacuum is not helpful.

Particularly given how toxic things have become in the last six months. A short, pre-recorded interview with Jerome or even CW would at least demonstrate that all is progressing well, and to encourage fans to fill the Kassam on Saturday for yet another vital game in our relegation fight.

The alternative is you say nothing on recruitment for ten days. At a time when there are already serious misgivings about how slow and reactive our club’s leadership is.

I’ve been in the Comms and PR game for some time, but this all feels pretty basic. Our club is just not very good at this. Let’s hope they are good at appointing managers at least.

You believe it? Based on what?

cheers chaps appreciated - hes in the best hands , me n my sis' hoping he responds positively to treatment he's being given..... last week all he was talking about how much he was looking forward to going to game v Derby ( day before his 89th birthday)- he wasn't well enough for the game V Gass,...... and he was saying we need a manager in quickly

Thanks for the update Scotchers, hope your operation goes well and by that time we’ve got six points or more in our relegation battle
