Am I the only one not at all convinced by the Moore/Findlay partnership?
Both good enough players individually but a completely different dynamic to the two previous CB partners Moore has had.

CamBran yet to spark and looks almost permanently frustrated because so little around him is working well either. Taylor also a shadow currently...and James Henry looks like he is mostly just chasing shadows...as he was for a good part of last season imho.

Bate would be fine IF he had his ability with about 5 seasons of lower league football to back it up.

McGuane is a different class and the Browne injury is extremely worrying when you consider just how few clear attacking outlets we have.

It's a bit of a shitshow isn't it....
Very well put.
No I am currently worry about them both defensively, moore has regressed this season.
I'm not sure how much that is due to being exposed by the poor full backs on both sides ?
From an attacking point of view we can not play out from the back and I don't know if that is on the CB's or the player in front of them

Well I can’t remember a worse home performance in the last couple of years. Not interested in stuff about Robinson right now, but why was everyone apart from McGuane and Browne (for a few minutes) so bad? There was a terrible feeling from the team in the first half, they seemed nervous as kittens. Even the stirring fight back was largely hit and hope.

Positives- Tylr is a player, and McGuane- though he probably needs to be further forward if he’s going to make things happen.

Any news on Browne?

Sorry but I’m going to say it now. Thank you Karl for a few good memories but if I wake up tomorrow to the news that he’s been relieved of his duties I can’t say I’ll be upset. Things are deteriorating into chaos. A situation that started before the end of last season.

I’m fed up with Moore. Zero intelligence. Too slow. Lumps balls up from the back with no thought. It’s exacerbated by awful full backs in Long and Seddon who get caught out of position

Agree. We really saw the worst of Moore tonight: ushering the centre forward towards the 6-yeard box as if he was Jeeves, then losing his man and giving a free header for the goal, decent defender when the ball's in the air but anything that requires pace and anticipation....... I don't think composure is Finlay's strong suit.

Come on. It could be worse, the board can afford a bigger treatment room.
Findlay defensively is a rock, but his composure on the ball is his nemesis! Losing Stevens and McNally, we look incredibly rushed at the back, and Lincoln targeted this weakness with their high press. Long and Seddon were better tonight, but they are not ball players either. Brown, when he came on, was the only one to come out with any real credit.

Why should it be that every time Findlay got the ball, my nerves jangled? Why every time the ball went back to Eastwood was it then hoofed forward with little direction or purpose?
Why do we play Taylor as a lone forward?

Why does Robinson talk so much B*****s?

At least Nathan attempted to ask some more serious questions this evening, was never going to get a straight or even comprehensible answer, but it made a change.

Findlay nerves must be wrecked before the game even kicks off when he sees Seddon as his left back & Eastwood as his goalkeeper.

Impossible to make judgment on Findlay till he’s given a proper chance.

Surely McGinty & Brown start Saturday!!?

I wrote months ago it was a worry Karl didn't address stuff at Xmas he got away with it until we were 4th and the pressure was on . Alot of people could see the problems we would have and sure enough we missed out by alot. I also wrote he was under pressure having so many older players up front. Bodin , Baldock ,Henry and Taylor . All good players if you have 1 or 2 in your team not 4 . What are we going to do against the better teams of which there are more this year. Sadly I think it will be diddle for middle if we are lucky ,we are so far behind these teams with a very poor transfer window . What did Shankly say it's only game ,its more than that. I wish the board knew who he was because they are spaffing away big money and we are much worst than last year.

Playing/carrying it out from the back is no longer an option for us...and it has been at times a very effective outlet for us over the last 3 seasons. We no longer have the personnel to do it and consequently we look nervous, rushed and ponderous all at the same time.

In fact, ponderous describes a lot of what we do badly. Once we play with more pace and urgency, we look better, but half the time we just look scared of our own shadows

I remember back in the really dark days (Lg 1 to Lg 2 to Conference plummet) that we got to the point where players were scared to try anything in case it went wrong and the crowd got on their back again....which we frequently did. It felt like a self fulfilling prophecy at times.

Not saying we're anything near that, but half the time the players do look scared/apprehensive to try anything expansive in case it doesn't work....why? And it is doubly baffling considering we know how talented and creative some of those players can be...

The lesson should have been learnt after the Blackpool play off defeat. We need athletic, strong players capable of being available for selection for 35+ league games.

Too many of our players either seem unlikely to be available for 35+ league games, or are simply not good enough to be in a team with genuine top 6 intentions.
Hugely frustrating because this was all so predictable and the problems are glaringly obvious.

Is Eastwood a top 6 Div 1 keeper, are Long and Seddon top 6 Div 1 team calibre full backs?

Are Marcus Browne, Jodi Jones, Sam Baldock, Josh Murphy likely to to be available for 35 games this season? Not if previous seasons records are used as an indicator. You could question others signings / players who signed extensions in a similar way.

Any new signings are unlikely to be match fit. So will Robinson take the risk and chuck them in, or will it be another 6 weeks before we have something like a fit squad?

Surely Robinson does not believe what he actually said post match v Rovers and tonight. I really hope he is saying something different behind closed doors.

As for some positives tonight:-

Ciaran Brown - solid defensively, lovely volleyed cross to Moore, has a long throw, adds physicality. Needs to start.

Kyle Joseph - looks to have something, be great to see him up top with Taylor.

Tyler Goodhram - looks to have something. For such an inexperienced player it’s great to see him make himself available, and get stuck in.

Marcus McGuane - starting to show his class. Looks a real prospect, glides past players. Player of the season so far.

A complete shambles of a start to the season.

It's almost as if we realised last season we struggled against teams that bullied us, so signed another big centre-half to deal with it. Then we forgot that a huge chunk of our play went through Kane picking the ball up from the CBs and distributing, or McNally bringing the ball out creating space for others.

Both CBs are not great with the ball at their feet. We improved massively when McGuane started taking more risks with possession when he came deep, rather than watch the backline pass it around aimlessly until one cleared long.

Don't think KR is done by any stretch, but there are clear problems that need addressing. Looking at it from a sympathetic perspective, we've traditionally started pretty slow the last few seasons and have a style which often takes some time to build up rhythm. My biggest concern is so far this season there doesn't seem to be a defined style, and the players we've got don't really suit how we've been playing in previous campaigns.

At least Nathan was pushing him a bit in the RO interview, but we know CW will give him an easy ride tomorrow when he speaks....

I just don't get how Karl can say that he stands by these performances and his players is baffling.....he signed these players that have dubious history with injuries or are crocked when they arrive, and he sets the team up this way.....he has to take responsibility.

I'm beginning to lose a bit of faith in him.😳
