This is all too complicated now.
Excellent! You've just passed the interview for the newly created EFL position of ' Chief how the season ends deciding Officer'
When can you start?!
This is all too complicated now.
So favouring your own team.... until they get beat by the other playoff contenders!
They are one point behind but with significantly worse goal difference, which means that they would need a win (regardless of who they played) to go above us. So not easy to read into the table of truth!!Considering we don't see Wycombe as our rivals there sure are some unreasonable comments aimed their way. All I see is their fans have come on to the forum to put their case for being considered for promotion in a polite and succinct way. The table doesn't lie - they are 1 point behind us with a game in hand....
I've been saying this from a long way out, and it's main advantage - simplicity. No matter which way you slice it in terms of PPG, the top two in L1 are Coventry and Rotherham and the top three in L2 are Crewe, Swindon and Plymouth. So just sack off the playoffs and promote only those sides.
In L1 only two would go down as we need to fill the spot left by Bury, so down go Bolton and Southend. Who could complain that this would be unfair? They’re both miles adrift. Only Luton and Barnsley would come down from the Championship but again, they’ve been down there all season and are somewhat adrift, so very little room for complaint. That’s just how it goes - you were crap for 37 games. Job done.
Leeds and WBA can go up from the Championship as they’ve been the pace setters all season and there’s a gap there anyway, so off you go lads. The Premier League can do what they want and decide how they do it, but two teams need to come down to replace Leeds and WBA. Leave it to them, give them a deadline and if they can’t sort it, the bottom two automatically drop and that’s that. Tough - get it done.
Then all that’s needed is to decide the bottom of L2. Even if Stevenage win their game in hand their goal difference would still leave them bottom, so I would boot them down and let Barrow up from the Conference.
Done. This is what people get paid for. Run your god damn administrations and make some decisions, you spineless idiots.
EDIT: As has been pointed out, let Barrow up into L2 but Stevenage don’t go down to balance the books. Happy days.
Would imagine that put just down the road from the ground that invites away supporters for some 'pre-match' entertainment would know how to source some of theseSouth Korean way of 'inflating' attendances ..... question is will Wycombe follow their lead in the future and actually fill Adams park? ?

Weighted PPG is hardly complex , it just takes into account the large variance between playing home or away....And the advantage that gives to the home team.I've been saying this from a long way out, and it's main advantage - simplicity.
Take all of the systems and calculations and processes out of it and look at how the land lies on this single unique occasion - no need to invent a set of rules this time to fit the obvious straight forward changes that can be made. Sure, put some in place for the future, if ever required again, but this time, just do it...
Once you take out the 'playoff place' and the corresponding relegation spot, the only contentious one across the four divisions will be Premier relegation, which is bit too tight to make arbitrary decisions (and I would say the same whichever division it was), so if it can't be played out on the field, then I would make an exception here and go with no-one/just Norwich coming down and re-balance next season...
I used to work in said establishmentWould imagine that put just down the road from the ground that invites away supporters for some 'pre-match' entertainment would know how to source some of these
Not to you and I and those of us who have known about it since it was first mentioned it isn't, but remember the average Joe in the street needs a computer to work out goal difference....Weighted PPG is hardly complex , it just takes into account the large variance between playing home or away....And the advantage that gives to the home team.

You’re on a free fall you wouldn’t win your game in hand so let’s do a weighted PPGOxford fans prefer the system that suits their club best - Shock

Yes a game in hand...Coventry awayConsidering we don't see Wycombe as our rivals there sure are some unreasonable comments aimed their way. Sod it, let's just promote the top 2, play-off single game for 3rd, Oxford v Wycombe, the PPG tie-break game, and be done with it.
Let’s not forget we are 3rd your game in hand is Coventry away and out goal difference is 23 yours is 5 a difference of 18 oh yes you won three of your last 5 we won our last 5We have won 3 out of the last 5.
Let’s not forget that it wasn’t that long ago that you got pumped 4-0 by ten man Peterborough - you are no world beaters.
