Having Wilder back would be like getting Robinson back in 7 years time. It was toxic before Wilder left just as it was for Karl.

Appleton on the other hand I was upset when it was announced he took the Leicester no2 job and it felt like we missed a massive opportunity to kick on.

It was toxic, but just because most of the fanbase were bored with how we had stagnated, and because he'd mouthed off about the fans a few times.

Wilder didn't actually leave us in a bad spot. We were in the playoff spots, only four points off the top of the league with a game in hand, and a decent if unspectacular squad at that level.

Not the same as the position Robbo's left us in at all - freefall down the table, with a squad of overpaid crocks that are all signed up for next year as well.

[not that I'm advocating for Wilder coming back......although Colin B's meltdown would be something to behold if it happened!]

It won't be entirely their responsibility as previously mentioned by UTO Tiger and Faz will be involved aswell. Bakrie, Horst and Thohir are the money men that employ people to run the show and that includes sacking and hiring. Alot of clubs are run like this higher up the pyramid.
Yep definitely. They wouldn’t have time to run the club day to day, it’s an investment for them and they pay the above mentioned to look after their asset

That little crowd in the North stand couldn't stand Wilder.

And I hope he stays there.
I know right! I mean why would we want a man who won this league and the league below and got manager of the year, finished 2nd in the Championship and then 8th in the Premiership, as well as saving this club from absolute ruin in the past?! A man who specialises in an us against the world mentality for the relegation battle we are in.

It will never happen for a multitude of reasons, but if Chris Wilder even expressed a smidgen of interest I would hope Tim would have that contract drawn up in a matter of seconds.

Isn’t Tiger a minority shareholder now? 7.5%?

I’m nervous about letting him get too involved in this process, I suspect he was partially responsible for KR not being fired for so long, he certainly gave him free reign and way too much power and a crazy contract. Wasn’t Tiger also partially responsible for Anderson, the right back who can’t tackle (maybe that’s a bit harsh) and Wildschut being here? I’m just not sure his credentials of football knowledge and decisions are up to much. I appreciate he’s responsible for getting the bigger investors on board of course, but would rather others make the requisite key football related decisions and managerial appointment.

He was also responsible for Rob Dickie.

If Anderson is fit he’s easily in our current best XI so not sure he’s a great example for your point…

If you base it on stats and ability to get us into the championship then Wilder has to be first choice.
If we want a longer term approach and build our own brand and style then we need to take time to get the right man i.e. how Brentford have developed.
The question is, what is the boards vision?

Warburton, Richardson or Appleton they are all good and would get us back on track. But we must stay up.

I’ll be amazed if Matt Taylor (no, not that one) doesn’t apply for the job. Lives locally and eager to get back into management. Not saying I want him, I just think he will apply

Was at the game Saturday

If we bring in a DoF (rarely seen in the EFL) or HoR, then I would hope they are given the trust and responsibility to influence the decisions. As such, anyone appointed should be happy to work within that structure.

I think after the Friday meeting it was mentioned a shortlist had been created? Wouldn’t surprise me if there is some third party help with regards to the Head Coach appointment.

I would imagine Tim Williams is very much data driven, DOF there’s a too external agency that offers their services for this kind of thing that wouldn’t surprise me at all.

Does make a difference does it when you’ve stated we’re already relegated.
