Or taken away in handcuffs/straightjacket.He won't be going anywhere unless it's in a coffin or voted out (and I'll believe that when I see it)

From an article in the Guardian yesterday. My late dad was a very Conservative chap (both with a big and small 'c'!) and for a while was a big wheel in the South West Conservatives. So - an active member of the party, not only a voter or supporter. I didn't (and still don't) agree with his politics but what I will say is that he was as honest and straightforward as could be. He genuinely thought that conservatism was best for the country and the people in it. He would be absolutely appalled by the people running 'his' party at the moment. This is *not* a conservative government, the party has been hijacked by small minded nationalists and self-serving liars and opportunists - even my aged mum (probably more Tory even than my dad!) has stopped being a member of the party. She'll never be Labour or even Liberal (again, with either a big or small 'L'!) but it will take a huge shift in the Tory party for her to vote Conservative again.
Not necessarily. Xenophobist maybe. Nationalist is someone who puts their country first to the detriment of other countries, so race isn't specifically linked.A question that i think i know the answer to but am open to being convinced otherwise, is a nationalist by default also a racist ?
Tell that to the six million. Not necessarily. Xenophobist maybe. Nationalist is someone who puts their country first to the detriment of other countries, so race isn't specifically linked.
That case obviously was, but the definition doesn't mean it always has to be. This is talking theoretically of course.Tell that to the six million.
Edit: or at least their surviving families.
This isn’t about race or religion. This is about money and ensuring the ruling classes have it and that those at the bottom don’t.Tell that to the six million.

Wow! It took you 41 minutes to completely contradict yourself. It's that the quickest U turn on here ever?
He will cling on for another year bumbling and fluffing up our country. Labour will continue to waffle on and not actually make any headway, the Lib Dems will miss read “protest” as “changed sides”and then next year liz truss / some another loonie will be put in place of Boris and will call and narrowly win another GE and the cycle of mismanagement or out country and political systems will continue.
We need a change to the system and either they’ll do it or we’ll have to.
As close as anyone has got on here.
Labour - no policies except "Vote for us because we aren`t Tories".
Lib Dems - no policies ecept "Vote for us because we aren`t the other two".
As for changing the system, someone will start a petition or set up a FB page - the days of protests that make a difference are long gone.

Are you getting that narrative from priti Patel or Richie Sunak . This isn’t about race its xenophobia and nationalism and it has racists in it ( Boris and his letterbox spring to mind) but it isn’t necessarily racist…yet. With respect, in this case the ruling classes are using the nationalism/xenophobia card as a means to be in power
so race/racism feels like its at the core of this, at least thats how its coming across to me.
If you think the protesting for a change days are long gone, try catching a train….this is going to be a long hot summer of protest. As close as anyone has got on here.

That would require taking a break from simultaneosuly sticking fingers in ears and shouting "LA LA LA NOT LISTENING" whilst attempting to polish that massive pile of turds the Tories keep chucking at their believersI suggest you do some brief research on Labour and Lib Dems if you think there are no policies.
Mid term bi elections don’t mean much more of a protest vote but wait till the GE then we will see how much the country feel different to the previous election. If you think the protesting for a change days are long gone, try catching a train….this is going to be a long hot summer of protest.

Do you see either party's leadership standing up and saying "We will do XYZ ?"
Do you see either party's leadership grabbing headlines with new ideas?
Starmer's "pledges" aren`t going well.
Labour lost their deposit in H&T and the Lib Dems lost theirs in Wakefield so its not just me that can`t see them.
Wot and let the Tories nick the ideas al la windfall tax? Nah.Do you see either party's leadership standing up and saying "We will do XYZ ?"
