Just looked at the run it's going to be close we have the toughest . I think it's going to be between us and Sunderland that's some fixture coming up.

Just read that Oxford have still never lost a home league match against Ipswich. Admittedly the majority of them have been draws (4W 7D in 11 matches - slightly surprisingly we've only been in the same division as them 11 times).

Possibly the luckiest point this milllenium. Most of the team had absolute stinkers. Every time Sykes got the ball clear message was , I’m getting rid, I want to make my international debut next week.

McGuane , oh dear.

Would absolve Eastwood, Long and Kane from criticism.

Ipswich mobile and impressive defensively.

But couldn’t cope with the Formula 1 giraffe.. What a moment that was.
Thought the McGuane sub was a slightly odd one. Felt like a pre-conceived one to manage Bodin’s minutes, but at a time when the pace of the game was as frantic as it could have been. The expectation that McGuane would just waltz in and immediately pick up the pace was a bit harsh on him. Sykes and McGuane certainly wouldn’t be names I’d highlight compared to some real shockers today from Williams and Brown in particular.

I’m surprised to see so little positivity about the first half. Up against a side with 8 clean sheets in their last 9, we were the dominant side and created a few decent chances. Two scuffed shots from Whyte and a couple of other openings, whilst Ipswich did absolutely nothing going forward.

We were the very very poor 2nd half. But one half each and one goal each makes a point a fair result in my eyes.

So happy to have a seemingly confident Easty back in goal. Keep him there til the end of the season please.

There were a couple of Ipswich fans on the bus to the Kassam and one pf them said they had used his old university digs address down the Cowley Road to book tickets. He had bought a few tickets to OUFC games whilst at uni so was on the database.

Williams as usual was ok going forward, but he's not a defender.
Agree. Would prefer to see him play further up the pitch. As should Kane, we haven't seen the best of him but with Gorrin's injury and no defensive midfielder being signed in January his he's been wasted as our holding midfielder.

I thought that, as much as anything, McGuane was bought on as we couldn’t keep hold of the ball.

Funnily enough, I kept thinking that Winnall change was needed earlier. Despite his form, it felt like we needed a disrupter as Ipswich’s defence was too comfortable in the second half. A blunt instrument, but in the short time he was on, Sam did put them under more pressure.

The 2 Ipswich fans who got removed from back of north stand didn’t really celebrate from what I saw, but one of them had an Ipswich top on, Which I think is a bit stupid, And when they scored one of the blokes who had seen the top kicked off and within a few seconds there was dozens of people giving them abuse and getting aggressive, considering Ipswich aren’t our rivals I don’t really care if they are in our end and I think they should’ve been left alone really, I was sat smiling at all this going on right next to me and was about to get removed myself either by the stewards or my fellow Oxford fans who thought I was an away fan too, luckily I got my jeans over my fat calves enough to show my Oxford tattoo to end the confusion lol

Totally agree on Winnall. Ipswich’s gameplan yesterday was excellent, they stopped us playing and took total control of the midfield when Morsy came on. Once reduced to going more direct, Winnall gives us a presence.

My opinion of Ipswich fans has been further diminished by the behaviour of one balding, overweight, middle aged prat post match. Heading to the car park from the main concourse, along with many other OUFC fans, we encountered this prat, going in the opposite direction. (Presumably coming from the away end but, who knows) He decided that my wife was in his way and barged into her, sending her flying. Fortunately she was not injured, badly shocked but no physical injury. She is not one to accept this kind of behaviour and went after the prat, tapped him on the shoulder and asked that he look her in the face and explain himself. Clearly taken aback and probably alarmed by the fact that I was ready to launch myself at him, he stopped and feigned innocence. He eventually apologised as more folk stopped to see what was happening (including a steward who had become aware of a potential disturbance)

We experienced the same behaviour in Ipswich and can recall many others with similar stories including children being verbally abused.

Quite frankly, Ipswich never making it out of league 1, or better still, getting relegated further, would please me no end. This belief by, recently, former Premiership sides or so called "big clubs" of a divine right to gain promotion is pitiful. These clubs need to educate their fans and get them to grow up.
In these times of "Her game too", "Level playing field" and all the other incentives and campaigns for equality and understanding, these types of Neanderthal, knuckle dragging morons is over. My wife wants to attend matches and feel safe, not threatened. I want to attend knowing that she will be safe.
