This season is finished the powers that be just need to sort out the curtailed seasons outcome.
playing the devils advocate role here ... huge (annual) events such as the Open , Wimbledon , Glastonbury festival, among others, due to the sheer size of numbers they attract, and also require a sizable infrastructure of all manner of logistical, operational and security/ safety to be planned and starting to be put in place several months before the event itself takes place, given the predictions by experts is CV19 pandemic is set to peak next weekend, and the peak is more than likely to last 10-14 days, before slowly heading downwards over the next 4-6-8 weeks, it makes sense to cancel , additionally factor in that most big annual events tend to invariable sell out in well in advance, finances and financial implications will also come into consideration. Especially with many furloughed, on reduced income, or even self employed who unless currently working not due any £ until June the earliest, there ain't much in the way of disposable income available for spending on such events. No promoter worthy of the title would gamble on holding any sizable event at a definite loss this summer.
