Would have him back in a flash. For all the rebuilding work going on (for which Pep should be given time and credit for), there isn't that touch of X-factor or flair that a player like Maguire brings anywhere in the team. He may have been the decisive man in a game like today, for example.

Chris Maguie a Scottish footballer plays for Bury, who pay him more than Oxford United offered. They are also closer to his home in Scotland.
Unless he was offered more money to come back here why would he return?

Neither Skarz or Conor seem to be regular or seem injured. Edwards is a steady addition for them but not stopping defeats. I'm not sure we'll ever know the truth with Mags given past experience with Mapp. I think we just have to let go some times.

Watching Maguire against us at Gigg Lane really hit it home to me what a decent player he was for us. I'd have him back in a heartbeat. Other than Ledson I don't see that sort of tenacity in any of the players in our team.

I’d drive from my home in Dorset to go and pick him up. I was gutted when he left. He’s a class act, just depends if Pep can get the same out of him that Appleton did. MApp has worked with him before and seemed to have him sussed.

The jury seems to be out on this one. As I said last week, I would have him back ASAP. By and large the fans loved him. just the man to have around on a drab day like yesterday. Could not concentrate on the football ( what there was of it) due to the biting cold. Would it work second time around? Nobody knows. Did it work with Hugh Curran, Joey Beauchamp, Paul Moody, David Ford.............well, sort of. I think there is a groundswell of support for his return. Here's hoping!!
