That doesn't stop catching covid baz. It might effect the isolation period though.
I know it doesn’t stop you from catching it but less likely if double jabbed, so who may have been the carrier? Hello it’s a shame although the PCR tests may come back negative.

On a minibus, got to Stoke and saw that it was off. Heading back now

I don't think it necessarily means next weeks games will be off. They will do tests the next couple of days on the rest of the squad and assuming they are negative we play whoever is available against Fleetwood.

So our next home game might be Wigan at home? 🤣 can we play them twice in one week?

I expect it took a while to get the EFL Wallas out if bed to confirm it could be called off. Feel for those who have traveled

You would have thought teams would do their LFT on a Friday - not that fans travelling matters much I suppose. 🤷‍♀️

When I had covid I didn't test positive straight away, they could have done one yesterday, been negative and then only became positive today.

‘Fell ill overnight’ is the official line from the club.

I take your point that regardless of symptoms or exposures, everyone involved in a match day squad should be responsible for a LFT on a Friday before a weekend match.

Agree. Think the fans and the club need to develop a seige mentality, puff out our chests, walk tall and carry on regardless. Put out the strongest team possible against Fleetwood even if it means playing the youth team. All fans should get to the game where possible, make an absolute racket and support whoever may be representing our great club on Tuesday.

The players will do well if properly supported over this difficult period and we'll look back on the next couple of weeks with pride at how we come out fighting when we had our backs to the wall.

LFT`s work BETTER with asymptomatic people - that's the idea to catch the asymptomatic person BEFORE they give it to others.

It's why we do at least 2 a week at work so you don`t go in shedding virus before you have symptoms.

I would surmise the Club are doing regular testing ....... or not. Anyone know the EFL protocol or are they thinking "its gone away" ??

<crys softly whilst banging head on wall>

Geez this will give the consortium thread a little break.

+ Fell ill overnight
+ Players start reporting symptoms
+ Took tests to verify
+ Test results come in
+ Bring together EFL, Wigan and Oxford representatives
+ All sides have to be contacted and gather on call to agree they don’t want to play to prevent further spread amongst healthy players (potentially from those not showing symptoms yet)
+ Communication drafted and issued before midday

I don’t think anyone can complain about the timeline or the decision although undoubtedly plenty will to fit whatever narrative they need to get to

CASE CLOSED

My lad left Newcastle on national express at 7.10 this morning and got as far as Manchester. His scheduled megabus home is 8.45 tonight. Just paid for him to get a earlier one at 1.40pm.
At least he'll get some rest before playing American Football for the University v Edinburgh tomorrow 🙂

I’m sure Ipswich fans will find something to moan about 😉
