General Season ticket prices

Please appraise us of your suggestions then.

i’m not privy to the balance sheet but to give you some idea, Reading* supporters were asked to put £70 to reserve their seat last season due to covid and they have had that £70 deducted from their ST price this season.

*the same Reading that are a fag paper away from being skint btw.

Since your the main source for inside info on here. Why don't you voice your dissatisfaction to your sources and put across what exactly you would like the club to offer.

The club have made their decision and fans have the opportunity to decide whether they renew or not.

Exactly, the same as we all had a choice wether to renew last season or not. A few good signings, the takeover announced and their master plan will divert fans displeasure. Now we know why they didn't announce the season tickets until now.🙄

my mates and I renewed because nobody envisaged the pandemic and lockdowns to go on as long as they did! Should those who renewed be penalised to the tune of £200 versus non ST holders? Is that what you’re saying?

Yes I felt they could have done something like that, reserving my seat is the main reason I will renew, and some who can’t renew may well want to pay less to keep
their seat

What I would have liked to see is the difference between your ST price and what you actually got (iFollow feeds) being deducted from this year's renewal. So if we got 23 league games plus one (or was it two?) other games, we got £240/£250 worth. A non-ST holder would have paid that for exactly the same. So as a ST holder I've apparently donated the difference between my ST price and that and paid *more* than a non-ST holder.

In my case I think the East Stand tickets were £299, so I'd have liked the £49/£59 deducted from my renewal price. Not sure that I would have paid that extra for a raffle ticket, which is what seems to be happening! It's not really the money, it's the fact that we were being told how much we were appreciated all season and plainly that's only true as long as we stump up next time. Not difficult to work out as everyone is in the same boat.

I will end up renewing of course, but it makes me feel just that little bit less well-disposed to those running the club.

Edit: I have emailed the club to make exactly this point. I will share any response I get.

I honestly thought they would have done more for Juniors with season tickets. I imagine the vast majority of junior season tickets are purchased with an adult, so the ifollow feed would be superfluous for juniors. They could have included a free shirt for them which probably cost less than £15 to the club.

In an ideal world the club should of gave existing season ticket holders a huge discount this season but then this would come out of revenue this season. 4000 season ticket holders all getting a £200 discount would be a loss of £800k in revenue. You can see why they haven't😶

Damned if they do, damned if they don't. - Commonly used expression for this type of event but, in this instance I believe the club have fallen short.

Setting a short timetable for renewal with no clarity over refund policy is poor. The lack of any credit in the club shop this season, is poor. The offer of two home cup games for no charge is nice but, if you cannot attend (or still wish to boycott the Tin Pot) then it's worthless. No clarity over iFollow.

Freezing prices is one thing, not acknowledging the financial loss incurred by all those who 'donated' there season ticket cost to the club with a realistic material offer, is just bad business. Yes, I know, I could have had a refund but I felt it right to support the club at that time.
Has this offer been rushed? We have all been waiting for some announcement and now, don't know about others but I feel somewhat underwhelmed (to quote @ECYellow )
The Loungers don't even have season tickets to renew, the 1893 club doesn't exist for this season (Covid vaccination using the building) - We can have our usual seats apparently, at the normal admission rate, whatever that is. The fact that we "gave" the club £1150.00 last season and got back £230.00 of iFollow doesn't seem to warrant an effort on the part of the club to make any kind of offer over and above a seat at normal prices. We got crap seats for the play off at full price, not even the concessionary rate for myself being over 65.

Short term pain for long Term Gain?

I must admit I thought something like the above might have happened, just a discount reflective of the difference in price between season ticket and ifollow home games.

My annual memberships at two horse racing tracks have rolled on for a further season at no cost even though I managed to attend 2 days at one course and 3 at another - so 5 days of racing gratis. Both courses also provided a free racing tv day pass for each day of racing over last season.

I’ll still renew my season ticket but personally I think the club could have done a little more.

Well done to the club on the video though, thought that was decent.

You’re confusing who is the customer in this transaction. It isn’t the club.

“Spend more money on better players!”

“We should be more ambitious and not allow our players to go on the cheap!”

“Don’t rack up more debt!”

“Show me loyalty and give me stuff for free or at vastly reduced rates!”

“I deserve a ticket for the big game, I’ve been coming for 870 years. A STH? No, not anymore, the club wasn’t nice enough to me”

Damned if they do. Damned if they don’t.

Personally, I will buy ours. It’s a donation to the cause that means the most to me.

Would it be that much?

Adult East Stand and North Stand Family STs were £299/£300 - the difference would be fifty quid or so. Over 65s and under 21s wouldn't get anything.
Adult North Stand and South Lower tickets were £390 - the difference there would be £150. Over 65s and under 21s wouldn't get anything.

etc.

Unfortunately due to personal circumstances i won't be able to renew this year, i'm hoping to get a membership if they offer it :)

And that £800k loss of turnover then feeds into what we are allowed to spend on players due to the FFP rules......some need to be careful what they wish for.

Yeh or sell Atkinson for 1.4 million to cover it. 😶

It'd be interesting to hear the Fan's Council view on this. I'd expect them to be very critical.
