National News Boris Johnson - Ousted Former PM

Blah, blah, blah.

If we have learned anything about Boris um er John um er um son during the pandemic (so far) it is that he is long on rhetoric, painfully short on being able to deliver anything or being able to knuckle down on the detail.

Let's wait and see what actually happens.

You don`t get to the top without treading on some toes on the way be that in business or politics. There are more "characters" at the top than humble, normal folk.

Oh good...that makes it alright then....

Didn`t say that did I?
If you sit at the top of the pile you have clambered over people to get there and have a steady stream of folk wanting to knock you off for many, often nefarious reasons.
He may well have been a knob at school, he may well be dysfunctional and quirky.
However, like it or not, he is the leader of the elected Government and is balancing a multi pointed complex see-saw at the moment.
Yes folk will "take to twatter" to snipe at him, whoopy doo.
Why don`t they contribute something positive and help solve some of the problems like Rashford did?
Anyone can criticise ........finding solutions is far harder.

Still waiting to see what solutions he has found. ....[emoji848]

Just looks like it lacks substance.

And that is the point. Everything that Boris does lacks substance and attention to detail, which is why he ends up screwing so much of it up.

And the criticism did not originally come from Twatter...they happened to be re-shared there. They are long-standing views...and still there is nothing to suggest they are not accurate.

As for poor old blondie on his see-saw....bless his privileged botty......what with a team of civil servants four times the size of the EU at his finger tips, eager to do his bidding......and yet in his speech today, he wistfully and enviously looks towards countries of the EU as shining examples of how to get things done quickly, cheaply and efficiently.

I can't decide if it's parody or irony he can't grasp...possibly both...

TL;DR. MTV generation. I'll wait for the bulletpoints ?

HYG : How sh1t is Europe????

COVID has taught us the cost of delay.

Why does UK public procurement take 50% longer than in Germany?

Why are UK capital costs typically between 10 and 30% higher than other European projects?

Why is HS2 – transformational though it will be – going to cost us the equivalent of the GDP of Sri Lanka?

Why are we so slow at building homes by comparison with other European countries?

In 2018 we built 2.25 homes per 1000 people - Germany managed 3.6, the Netherlands 3.8, France 6.8.

This Government doesn't find solutions, it creates more problems. That's why we need to get rid of it.

BoJo couldn't balance a diet let alone a multi pointed complex see-saw. The problem isn't that he is a knob, dysfunctional and quirky, it is that is dangerous to have him in charge.

Rather than career politicians we would be better off being led by people with personal knowledge and experience in the fields of defence, health, education, national security, industry etc.

I'm also guessing that it really doesn't matter if the bloke is a massive tw@t on every measure you care to think of, so long as he wears the right coloured rosette....is that right @Essexyellows ?

Quite interesting too that it was Rory Stewart who drew everyone's attention to the Eton letter about Boris as part of the leadership campaign....I thought you liked him more than Boris:unsure:

what they say , and what the actually do appear to be miles apart - bet all the 330+ Tory MPs were out (being seen to be) applauding NHS workers each and every Thursday for the lockdown duration - hypocrites IMO  ....

Good old Jeremy Hunt, a man of true principles.

Yep pretty much, elected leader of the elected government with a thumping majority.

I did prefer Rory, however he has moved on and so have I.

Given the choice I would have selected Rory over Boris but that never came to pass.

Worry about what you can change not what you can`t. Life lesson for free. ;)

Fortunately Marcus Rashford didn't take that approach - I'm sure he didn't think he was going to be successful, but he did it because he thought it was the right thing to do.

An alternative Life lesson - have the guts to stand up for the people worse off than you and for what you believe in not what you have been brain washed into accepting. ?

I would suggest a well known person, such as Marcus Rashford, has far more leverage than an anonymous individual on a minority football teams message board, but thats just me I guess.

Tbf, Greta Thunberg was only a schoolkid and look at what she has done or Malala Yousafzai after the Taliban tried to kill her for speaking up for girls having the right to be educated.

Plenty of opportunities to get rid of "it" in recent years but if you have a poor choice and a worse choice the poor choice wins. The tories were elected because the labour party under Corbyn were a f*****g s**t show. If you want to blame anyone for Bojo getting elected blame the Labour Party.
