How to complete the season

It's looking more and more likely that the season will re-start behind closed doors in June. Saturday 6th is the most likely date. That would mean that the play-off finals would be played over the first weekend of August.

re Wycombe - theres also the 'wins' they notched up against a very weak Bolton team, that has to be factored in, IMO

I believe somebody looked at this earlier in the thread that if the remaining home and away games are multiplied separately by the PPG for the home and away games so far then we would remain above Wycombe. I think the home and away would have to separated in any calculation, rather than a global figure, whether it benefits us or not as it. Otherwise, the imbalance of home/away games left and teams performance would not be fully taken into account.

I can’t believe they are still talking about this. It’s over, and next season probably is as well.

And the fact their game in hand is away to the league leaders and WW's away form is not great.

Didn't we rise from 7th to 3rd in about 2 minutes due to Ruffels' late winner and then an equaliser for Gillingham against Sunderland? If we were to be awarded promotion based on our 3rd place, that would be one hell of a 2 minutes rise!

Unless there is a very big relaxation in the lockdown rules/guidelines this won't be happening. If one player or member of coaching staff goes down with the virus, proven or otherwise the whole group would be out as well for a couple of weeks.

If it is then football is finished
I don’t think football is finished - as long as grounds are available and the bare bones of clubs persist we can resume competing when it is safe to do so. But I think a lot of mid range players will lose their careers - cheap young players and superstars will be ok.

Well it should be, but won't. The league will take the view that it was a valid match - and (to play devils advocate) it's not Wycombe's fault they were effectively given three points by the league's spineless approach to the situation.
Tough, life is not fair, sport is even more unfair than life. Flippin complaining about Bolton! Dear me.

Errm, I didn't complain - just pointed out that Sarge's wish/hope that game would be taken in account would not happen. Do you actually understand the Bolton situation?
Yes, got a fair idea of what has happened at Bolton, a way should have been found for them to play, possibly fine players if they refuse to play, players should NOT be playing to make money. Cover them for insurance, yes.

If they make a few quid along the way, fine, but they should not be playing to make millions of quid. If they make millions i have NO complaint.
You do realise that football at the top levels in this country is professional, right? That for players, managers, club staff it is their job?

Thank god I was really concerned for the superstars ?
