Yep. The one we lost yesterday when Leach appealed for LBW to a right hander was really stupid and pathetic. Even in real time you could see the ball pitched outside leg and was going on to miss the leg stump. So poor. I do seriously wonder about Roots captaincy at time's.

Absolutely. A real lack of alternatives sadly.

Broad would be an option but it feels like his career is being wound down by the selectors.

Stokes clearly has heart, but you’d fear he’d do a Flintoff and bowl himself into the ground (although Root pretty much does this already…)
