OUFC Women: 2023/24 Season Build-Up

Part time so understandable why a successful manager would want to explore a full time opportunity at the next level.

Still not time to panic, plenty of good staff left behind, my only concern is the affect on the Dev squad. Last seasons manager stepped up to the first team and now his replacement has stepped temporarily in Liam's place leaving them with little consistency. Given the amazing season they had last season we need to nurture them correctly and ensure they have the best chance of stepping up to the first team when required.

Timing is bad but then that is completely out of our control just unfortunate.

I'd guess the job is at Reading as they are currently without a manager.
(Edit) Although I've just noticed they've now gone part time so maybe not

The EPL refuse to move the Norwich - Millwall noon kick-off on Sunday to keep Sky happy.
However, MK Dons W vs OUFC W has been moved to 3:30pm

That's particularly annoying.
Although at a higher level, I assume that with Reading's huge financial problems, he will struggle to keep them up?
and very likely struggle to get paid too

fuckoffSkysports- seriously, with the Lionesses playing in the WWC final, and its on terrestrial TV, they are unlikely to get many tuning in to their live game ( outside perhaps of Norwich & south east London)

I mean. It’s a chance to work full time in football (players maybe part time, but his role doesn’t seem to be), as apposed to working a full time job and doing football in the evenings/weekends. And a free hit as a position given no one expects them to bounce back straight away. Hard to pass up.

Shame we weren’t able to provide him the same opportunity.

They downgraded all their playing staff to part-time once they were relegated from the WSL, hence the exodus of players they have experienced. Rose Kite has just signed for them so he has a familiar face there.

Pretty obvious something was 'going on', hence our player exodus! Not surprised to see the first ex-player signing on for him. I will be very surprised if we repeat the success of last season.

The Oxford job always was part-time.

Rose Kite signed for Reading after a successful trial a couple of weeks back so not necessarily anything to do with the manager appointment. I don't agree the players leaving had anything to do with this as several of the new signings commented that they were looking forward to working with him.
Just one of those football things, we still have a good squad but what better reason to get over to Court Place Farm and support them starting this Sunday in the cup against Abingdon Utd.
