Got to go to a bloody wedding in Bicester on Saturday 🤬🤬🤬

Didn’t go to Derby either so I’m starting to get restless!

Hello all
This will be my first game as a new season ticket holder. Looking forward to it! I've been to a couple of dozen matches at the Kassam over the years but my retirement choice was either a golf club membership or a season ticket...
Lets hope come the end of the season that choice proved worthwhile! Enjoy the game chap.

Welcome on board!

To an earlier post on prices I thought it would be interesting to give comparison:

Houston Astros baseball $35-150 depending on where you sit. They play over 70 home games. Season.

Houston Texans nfl $35-180 and upwards

Man City v Club America exhibition game played in Houston at the nfl stadium $35-180

Those cheap seats are top tier in enormous stadiums and you’d be better off watching on tv.

And to watch Oxford on iFollow is now $13 per game. I was actually surprised to see how cheap the ticket prices were as someone who doesn’t go regularly.

I think the world just got more expensive l. Inflation is running at 8-9% here in the USA

Although if I was playing devil's advocate - went to a Somerset Patriots baseball game the other week, and that was $14 for pretty much any seat except behind home plate.
They are the Yankees Double A side, so that is the third professional tier.....albeit there's no promotion/relegation so there's no chance of that changing.

NFL games I always find depends on the team. You'll basically never get an Eagles ticket for less than $100, but I got tickets to a Jets game the other year for $15 a piece (when they really sucked).

Also, my iFollow subscription cost $178 for the season, so more like $4/game?!?

AGREED BUT I THINK IF WE TOOK THE FRANCHISE AVERAGE YOUVE PICKED AN EXTREMD EXCEPTION RATHER THAN A MEDIAN

I’ve responded in SHOUTY MODE to your points. I’m not mad though (just disappointed 😉)

I still think it’s a shame you can’t pay/watch games on ifollow in the Uk, plenty of us don’t live in the area so would happily buy an ifollow season tickets. I don’t believe it would impact crowds as there is nothing like live football, but if it did make it away games only? Something for the EFL to look at , I’m sure clubs would like the additional venue stream?

You can do that. You just need to purchase a VPN. Very easy.

Bit of a false comparison! Firstly, TD Bank park has only 8k or so capacity, but it is much, much nicer than the Kasstad! And the beer is good, and there are a ton of food options so in general it's an enjoyable experience even if you don't care about the game (so basically the inverse of a trip to the Kasstad, which is a rubbish experience that's only tolerable because of the game!). Never been to Court Place Farm, but none of the non league grounds I went to in the conference days were worthy of comparison.

And then I'd say the quality of player is roughly equivalent to League One, as it is the third tier of the professional game.
But it is more like watching a team that's 90% made up off Premier League loanees.......

Just worked out what my iFollow abbo costs per match. I pay €166 for the league 1 matches plus whatever else they decide to send out. Based on just the L1 matches that works out to £3.01 per match. Reasonable especially with RadOx commentary.

We can do this all day big T. Our science is skewed whichever way we cut up the giant queso filled pretzel. The point being I don’t think the match day prices for 90 minutes football are that bad at Oxford relative to the cost of living and other entertainment.

It’s great value for the season. Agreed. Not so much if you’re going match by match basis

I agree, it's odd that if you can't/wont travel, or the away end is sold out, you can't buy an ifollow on a Saturday. Revenue is lost. Derby match a good example. VPN clearly a possibility for some, but extra cost and faff.

If there was a 'Fair Enough' like icon, I'd be clicking it now........

I use Nord VPN, mostly for away games. Only issue is that ifollow regularly realises you shouldn’t be watching (about every 10 to 15 minutes) and kicks you out. Then you have to log out of ifollow and log back in, to start watching again. It’s a bit of a pain tbh.
I use an iPad, maybe it works fine on a PC?

I did a count last night, and the total was not as high as I thought it would be, at just on 6,000 home sales (not including boxes etc). I'll use this method as it enables me to compare with last season's fixtures on a like for like basis.

So, it's less than the same stage before the game for all of the 10,000 crowds we had last season, but I did a comparison with last season's opening game verses Charlton. At the moment we're about 200 ahead of that game, at the same stage. That game finished with 7,067 home fans. I'd like to think we might see a signing or two this week, so sales may have a little boost. Even if we don't sign anyone I'd think we'll probably make 7,500 home sales and with 700/800 (maybe more?) from Cambridge will end up with a total crowd somewhere around last season's average of 8,463.

Will monitor, and report back, through the week.
Just under 200 added over the last 24 hours, so tickets are not exactly flying out of the door. Still think we're headed for about 8,500.

8 500 would be a decent crowd I reckon.
Charlton, 8,440 for the first home game last season but with around 1400 away supporters.

You have to remove all iFollow/EFL cookies before starting the OUFC APP again. Sorry can't tell you how to do that for safari
