Away Match Day Thread 22/02/2022 L1: Crewe Alexandra v OUFC

I’m never ever paying for that service again, problems every time. Anyway great result even though I saw about a third of it.
Mine worked fine, I recently got a new laptop and it seems to work much better now. I used to suffer from buffering but it’s definitely better now. 🤞

Sunderland 1-1 93rd minute.

Full time Sunderland 1-1 Burton Albion

2 points dropped for them, and next up Wigan. More points dropped hopefully.

That's 2 points more gained tonight than Sunderland, Ipswich, 3 points more gained than Wycombe and Plymouth. Not a bad night's work.

Really felt for Crewe tonight. Feel we've been there a number of times in the not-too-distant past - struggling in the league, getting a side up the top at home, putting in a really good performance and having a run of agonisingly close efforts on goal, before getting sucker punched with a goal out of nothing. I know it's easier to be magnanimous after a win, but they looked a huge amount better than some of the sides we've put away this season - Wombles and Fleetwood at home and Charlton Saturday spring to mind.

Matty Taylor has decided he’s not ever going to pass tonight! Three times now he’s shot when he could have passed

If it were someone else, I’d have shouted “shoot”. But he just doesn’t score goals from outside the box (and that’s no criticism). So when he’s in that position, I’m shouting “PASS”!

Hope Moore is OK, despite how well Brown did.
Is it me, or do we look less knackered at the end of games compared to the start of the season. Perfectly demonstrated by that lung-busting run in stoppage time by Whyte to win the ball back.

Very good point. And Williams too. And Sykes - but then he always does that!

Wow a massive 3 points tonight. What happened at the weekend must of been playing heavily on the players minds. Really proud of each and everyone off them. Now Saturday mentally I feel will be tougher. Not just the players but us, the fans. Personally after the last 2 results and under the circumstances would a point on Saturday be a bad result? The emotion of the day is going to be off the scale.
So proud to be a OUFC

I think we made them look better than they are, by giving them too much space in midfield and making some careless mistakes at the back. If we’d scored in the first half I’m sure they’d have wilted.
