Away Match Day Thread 22/02/2022 L1: Crewe Alexandra v OUFC

Not a great game by any means, but we got the 3 points, which is absolutely excellent. With Wycombe, and Plymouth losing and now Sunderland losing it could be a great night.

Well done lads, and let’s get another 3 points against Cambridge.

Why not tonight as well? First game since the news. Mark of respect.
I know, maybe it couldn’t get organised in time or the club may have thought Saturday hopefully with a much bigger crowd than tonight.

was never going to be pretty on that pitch .... nicking a 0-1 win away from home is a good result...irrespective of the opposition
Very ooor pitch and some over hit passes tonight, with Cambridge on Saturday and a much better side we will have to up the ante

To get to 74 points, the same as last season, we need 5 more wins. I don't know what others think, but to me this year feels much tighter. I think we will need six more wins.

Effectively 5 points better off than 7th once you include goal difference. Plymouth v Rotherham, Wigan v Sunderland, MK v Bolton on Saturday, plus Wycombe with a tricky away game at Accrington. Another 3 points against Cambridge and it could be looking even better at 5 on Saturday.

Two away wins and two clean sheets in a row after a little bad run, I will take that. You can’t win 4-0 every game, big game against Cambridge Saturday now for a few reasons but we need to keep this run going, autos are gone but the play offs are looking one hell of a battle.

One Million per cent correct - we would all have taken three points at 7.45 pm and a clean sheet

We looked very good in the first half without working their keeper but after the break we lost control of the midfield for a large chunk of it.

Crewe improved but for us it was a gritty three points and we move on to Cambridge who are in decent nick.

We may need to freshen it up.

A tough game and we seemed a little off par after an excellent first 15 mins or so.

But it is another 3 points on the board, 2 away wins and 2 clean sheets on the bounce.

Really feel that the signs are there to secure a playoff place. After that, to some extent it is a lottery, but we do seem to have the resolve to pull it off.

I felt that Taylor was a bit too self indulgent on a few occasions tonight. He had some better options tonight and maybe his goal tally is playing on his mind. But he is a striker I guess, and he can be forgiven for eyeing goal at every opportunity.

COYY’s.
