I’m not even sure Long’s performances over the last 6 weeks even warrant a starting spot, never mind being captain.

Take the romance out of it and I’d say he’s been bang average.
That was one of my main thought post Wycombe, I’d like to see genuine competition in both fullback rolls but suppose our budget doesn’t allow for that. Since his injury and Covid I really don’t think SL has hit the same level.

Unfortunately he's been a disaster in the last two games especially. Seems to have reverted back to the Sam Long of a couple of years ago. He really came on after that and looked more much more composed on the ball. He's looked really nervous recently and his distribution has been pretty poor.

Oh I agree to an extent but there also is a massive issue with current squad. Who’s captain material if Long isn’t? Moore & Brannagan could be off. Who’s a 90% starter who could get it if it’s not one of those 3. Huge issue

Thats the issue Long is the only one who will almost certainly be here next season that is captain material. Gorrin and Henry are other possible options but even then they may not even be here next season.

Even more reason why we should have real full back cover in last summer & not rely on wingers/midfielders to do job if need be, Long as you said has been bang average, Seddon is not a left back imo Left wing back but can’t defend & is constantly out of position (2nd goal vs Wycombe a great example)

Tom Eaves what’s he up to. Scored goals for Gills in this league and then went to Hull…

Big target man, something different, and may cause aerial threat.

What's Osei-Yaw up to? Based on some of the reviews on here I had assumed he was off to the Premier League after he left us, but I haven't seen him playing there yet.

There was something about him I liked. He certainly knew where the net was. Scored a cracker at Walsall, and two against Brentford.

Based on his Instagram, just having posed pictures/videos done by a sports consultancy.

A little bit odd he would want to sign a contract for only 5 months.

Pompey are effectively paying a chunk of his wages so probably the only way he gets a move to a L1 club. He gets a chance to prove himself for Lincoln or somebody else.

Well we’ve had about 17 midfielders / wingers / forwards competing for 6 spots all season, and midfield and attacking players generally cost more than defenders do in both fees and wages, so if that’s the case then it’s merely poor planning.
