Had to f*****g leg it through Bristol to catch the last train because the bus terminated early. Having left at HT ET that was a f*****g horrendous last hour for me. What the f**k happened.
Difficult to think of too many positives from tonight. Having not seen that last 15 minutes I can’t comment on what happened but even until then, it was pretty uninspiring. Disappointing from Bodin, MacGuane and especially Agyei, who seems to have significantly regressed this year. The extra half hour in the legs won’t hve done any of the players who played 120 mins any favours and the manner of a capitulation like that is very concerning, regardless of the circumstances. Didn’t see it, but an Easty clanger is also very concerning. Don’t think anyone here needs reminding how his last major mistake affected his confidence for months.
The positives for me to the extent there were any were Matty Taylor’s performance, who was the one player on the pitch who looked a real class above, and the general solidness of the 3ATB (although I appreciate that perception was probably completely thrown out the window by the final 15 mins). With the caveat of that second half of ET, I thought we looked pretty untroubled pretty much all game. Perhaps bodes well as a system we could switch to in the league if needs be. But then again, Rovers looked very, very limited, so it’s difficult to judge. That #4 is one of the worst professional footballers I’ve seen for a good long while.
Horrible night but it’s moments like this that make the last minute winners at Hillsborough all the sweeter. All part and parcel of following OUFC. Onwards and upwards.
