Pre season friendly

Did I read somewhere that KR does not like flying?

He must hate our current form them!

When it comes to PSFs, they’ve got to be competitive. I appreciate it’s an away day event for fans and team bonding but we should aim to play someone who can give us a game and likewise us give them a game.

Battering some Irish non league outfit with Shaun Derry scoring or Obika netting a hat trick is no use to the season ahead. If it has to be abroad find a side at an equivalent level such as Serie C in Italy.

Public pre season friendlies are a waste of time, better off with a training camp and decent behind closed doors matches against some quality opposition.

Why can’t these games against quality opposition take place in public?

The trip to Portugal has games against Hull and Middlesbrough, I’d say that’s not bad quality.

Just for a day out, no it should be about a professional preparation!

Isn’t it preparation to play in front of a crowd? Don’t we do that 45 times a season (looks like Wycombe will stay up).

Friendlys are tedious to watch but it does no harm to play them in front a crowd so why not.

No, but we now have an expectation that we should have a pre season beano somewhere.

I would rather we had some low key preparation

Why can't we ever get Swindon away in a pre-season unfriendly?
Not a bad idea, and it would give the TVP team a useful pre-season warm-up as well, they could practice their kettling techniques and marching large numbers of away fans past the main home sections.

Someone on Twitter suggesting Aston Villa or QPR.

Both potential problem games off the field. Mind you, regarding a QPR game, talking about field, it will be the first time we can say we would welcome damaging "The Grass.":ROFLMAO:

QPR would be good, they really hate us and it's a local game.

Although I thought KR said it was in another country?
