Perhaps our progressive local politicians could support house building to help allow folk to stay living closer to their families in Oxfordshire.

But covering the green belt with half million pound executive homes won’t help young people or the housing crisis. Houses are available but are too expensive and developers don’t build with the aim of lowering house prices. Councils need to be enabled to build low rise social housing blocks on brownfield sites, near public transport: there are some nice new ones in Rose Hill but we need more.

I suspect you have a personal interest in this- I’m not looking for aggro, just interested.

My personal interest is that younger generations can’t afford to buy houses because demand is too high. Cripplingly high rents mean that they can’t effectively save either.

It’s a broken system and it impacts young and future generations.

It should be a personal interest to all of us.

Problem is our youngsters,go on the council list & end up being shipped out to , places like Cardiff, Birmingham, Coventry, etc ,etc. DISGRACE FACT!!!!

That's not how the housing lists work, maybe do some fact checking before writing in big capital letters.

Housing lists are run per district, if you apply in Oxford City that's where you can bid, if you apply in Vale that's where you can bid, but you can do that concurrently. No one gets "shipped out" unless its by choice/necessity of the individual.

Anyway, let's all laugh at Blackpool.
