But covering the green belt with half million pound executive homes won’t help young people or the housing crisis. Houses are available but are too expensive and developers don’t build with the aim of lowering house prices. Councils need to be enabled to build low rise social housing blocks on brownfield sites, near public transport: there are some nice new ones in Rose Hill but we need more.Perhaps our progressive local politicians could support house building to help allow folk to stay living closer to their families in Oxfordshire.
