Blackpool: EFL chooses not to impose 12-point deduction after receivers appointed - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/47899636

I don't have a major issue with this to be fair. Firstly I don't think they've overspent and gained an unfair advantage on other sides and secondly, even with a 12 point deduction I'm sure they'd still easily stay up.

The fact that they have not overspent is irrelevant. This was a case of a club going into receivership and not having a 12 point deduction imposed which I feel sets a dangerous precedent.

For a club that has had it's own financial issues, I would be more concerned with punitive awards that don't look at each individual circumstance. Blackpool did not gain any footballing advantage from this, and actually probably wouldn't be disadvantaged by a penalty either.

I know it's a contentious issue but if we are to protect lower league football we need to be careful that we don't readily put clubs at risk of folding every time they slip up.
