Hello. I think some of this thread at least is well over the top. The idea that our club has not changed since the Oystons is absolutely ridiculous, for example. And offensive. The donkey spice stuff is offensive. And childish.
Blackpool don't have to offer the buy out clause amount. And you don't have to accept their offers. They know that. We've had exactly the same thing this window with Forest after Josh Bowler. Offered a paltry amount, 100k was mentioned. But we don't know for sure do we? We go off rumours and get all worked up. We haven't resorted to insulting Forest on our forum, other than expressing shock at the rumoured offers. Our new owner is a really good guy, and Critchley is as nice a bloke as you will find in football.
As far as Thorniley goes, Critchley would not mess any of his players about, it's not what he is about at all. We have three left backs who are all out injured for a good while. We have a shortage of left sided central defenders too, one out injured and another about to leave. It also seems that on the one hand you think he's not worth much and on the other get angry that you can't have him.
I suspect that the Brannagan stuff is more likely to be getting leaked by his agent than Blackpool, cos our deals are all kept under wraps usually. And Robinson seems to like playing to the gallery and stoking up resentment? Critchley has not said a word in public. Far more diplomatic and self controlled than Robinson.
I understand that you don't want to lose him, same things happen to us. But I don't think you are all seeing this quite straight. Making assumptions that Blackpool FC is something to despise, when the evidence of the last couple of years suggests very much that it is a well run club that looks after people and handles relationships very well. The change has been fantastic.
Cheers. I hope you make it up this season, with or without Brannagan. I hope you keep him tbh, like I hope we keep Bowler. And I expect we will.
