No problems for KR. Hes sitting on a FOUR YEAR contract.. There isnt a safer job in the country in the current climate. The worst case scenario would be the fanbase turning on him as hes going nowhere. It would be wasted negative energy. Finger’s crossed he’ll sort out the problems and turn it around. Total support from everyone will go a long way in helping.

I reckon there would be a clause re notice period i.e. 12 months pay if sacked / compensation if he moves on. I don’t reckon the whole of the remainder of the contract would need to be paid etc.

I’m not advocating him being sacked, but we were poor in the play offs and have had a disastrous start.

There just seem to have been some obvious mistakes and poor decisions made.

It was a risk trying to convert a right midfielder to a right back in an inexperienced back 4 and in a season that could be curtailed.

It was a risk starting the season with 2 inexperienced specialist centre backs ( 1 who is injury prone) and a 34 year old who has half an eye on coaching.

It’s been a mistake to keep playing Eastwood. His form has not suddenly dipped, his form / weaknesses have been there for all to see for a while. He has been a fantastic keeper for us, but we need better.

Liam Kelly is a luxury, he can pick a pass but just doesn’t seem to have the athleticism to play centre mid in Div 1.

We seem to be lacking an Andy Crosby type leader(s), we are soft all over the pitch. Being difficult to beat and nasty when things aren’t going to plan have always been prerequisites. If you are struggling go 4-5-1, be compact and make like difficult for the oppo. We’re far too soft.

We have been unlucky with Gorrin and Brannagan in particular but we haven’t helped ourselves with the way we’ve set up and our summer window.

Maybe this is with a bit of hindsight but in a season that may be shortened, a season when there may be a play off hangover perhaps we should have stuck to basics. Signed a ready made right back, a 26 year old 150 game plus centre back.

I’m not as relaxed as some on here about our ability to turn this around. Just because we started slow and came good last year doesn’t mean we will do the same this season. We have got 1 spare slot in our squad, we needed 2. We should have left one current squad player out.

Didn't someone say the club that doesn't win the play off final normally gets relegated the following season?

I have always been a fan of Robinson but I think that this will be a real test of his management going forward.
From what I’ve seen I am not to optimistic either. Obviously getting Brannagan back and hopefully a fit Winnall will make a difference but the others look a bit short to me. I keep saying that an experienced central defender is a priority but he doesn’t seem to accept it does he, but conceding 2 goals a game surely is all the evidence you need.

Over the last 12 seasons the losing finalists I understand three have gone on to promotion, six have ended up in mid to lower mid table, and three have been relegated. On current form it will be four who got relegated. I would happily accept lower mid table right now.

I would like to see the stats to back that up it might have happened to one or two but not every time
Leyton Orient lost the final in 2014 and went down twice in the next three years to end up in the Conference; Swindon lost it in 2015 and went down a couple of years later; Bradford lost it in 2017 and were relegated in 2019; Shrewsbury lost it in 2018 and only stayed up by two points the following season.

There were also teams who lost it and bounced back, however. L1 is full of teams built on loans and the best contracted players are usually scooped up by Championship clubs after a standout / breakout season, so more than half the league is rebuilding every summer. Keeps it pretty competitive and unpredictable.

Do you think fans will keep supporting a manager, as time goes on, that is clearly failing at his job, maybe around the end of November? We would be cut adrift at the bottom by then.
Would never happen, and why should it. Remember, in times of real adversity in the past, we stormed the boardroom!!

If we do it by Thursday at least 6 of us can storm it?

Normally on the positivity bus but that second half performance was a bit woeful. In the first half(I missed their goal) we looked the better side and really should have been at least level. Henry in spite of some sublime touches is just not on it maybe due to carrying an injury. I would like Robbie Hall to get a chance.

Let’s all be honest. It’s obvious that we will pick up some points but who on here believes Robinson is the man to push us forward. All the fans in the off season were crying out for Dickie to be replaced and we go and sign 2 strikers (one injury prone and one not even getting in the squad) it’s such a glaringly obvious error it’s scary how it has been made. For that mistake which could cost us L1 status, any Chairman who wants to progress the club would make a hard decision now. If Robbo admitted errors then fine but he’s deluded and needs to be removed.
