Well the irony of today is a DM was exactly what was called for, much more than a striker, but we deployed him 10 minutes after conceding rather than at 1-0. It was a disastrous afternoon for Des tbh.

But a more competent striker would’ve made some different. 4 touches in 15 minutes suggests he wasn’t near enough to the action. There’s an art to that role, he needs to know where the ball is going to be in transition and he doesn’t. But then he isn’t that player. I don’t know who’s responsible for this weird cocktail of what was a dynamic poacher playing on the last man to now playing inside the body of Romelu Lukaku with his back permanently to goal…

We are asking a very green, inexperienced kid to come on for 10 minutes and play the lone striker role, it’s not a massive surprise that it never works. He could and should of been learning all about playing up front out on loan somewhere in non league but someone keeps making the decision to keep him in house and it’s actually painful to watch now

I think Des got it wrong today should of replaced mcguane 20 minutes sooner with Matete and left Harris through the middle and brought on Henry.I thought ODonkor looked looked like a little boy lost.If only you could bring on Henry for corners and free kicks,Dare I say it but I do t like Brannagans corners.

Agree. Club should be disappointed with what they’re doing to a young lads career. He’s the ultimate loser here spending his formative years doing metaphorical donkey work for a club that should have his best interests at heart. Not the slightest bit proud of what we’ve done with him in the last 18 months.

Really agree about Brannagan's delivery. He seems incapable of bending/curling corners in. The difference Henry's delivery made on Tuesday was noticeable. He dominates set pieces too much for us.

I'm not a fan of these floaty-punted corners on the right from Cam - they just lose power and hang in the air and by the time they come off the likes of Moore's head, it's all fizzled out. Sometimes his inswingers struggle to clear the front post too. Strange because when it comes to long range shots, he can bend them no problem with pace and precision. I'd stick him on the edge of the box and give someone else a crack now and then.

If Bodin comes back I'd give him a go, he takes a good left-footed corner.

There easy to defend.

I can't believe there's no one else on the pitch who can have a go instead. Love him but his delivery is really poor, I don't think he's even that good shooting directly from free kicks. Scored a cracker against Derby but can't recall the last one he scored and like you say he takes all of them.

Agree re the coroners, that driven, flattish trajectory is not working at all. Cam should come off corners duty, find someone who can whip it in left footed from corners on the right and vice versa obviously on the left. Get Moore attacking that near post. Virtually every team we play - from Maidenhead to Derby deliver better corners than us.

I think Greg Leigh should have a go - he puts in some dangerous crosses in regular play so there’s no reason why he can’t have a go from the dead ball. Inswingers on the right would be ideal for him to try. Also rather than aiming for Moore to head it back across goal, I’d rather just whip it in with pace and hope for the best. Back-post floaters are totally ineffective so why we are persisting I don’t know,

I was very disappointed with the game. Buckingham has only won a third of his games now. Eastwood in goal, the writing seemed to be on the wall. Harris good again, he is playing better than he has done for some time. The formation will have to be changed with Goodwin about to enter the fray.
I can understand a lightweight Reading being upset they didn’t get three points. Eastwood flapped and luckily got away without conceding…what’s new there.
The best signing for me has to be Burey. That guy is so quick and skilful.
I couldn’t understand why Goodrham was substituted for O’Donkor, unless it was because he was booked. Des seems to substitute any player who gets a yellow card

It's obvious the tactic it's try and float it to the big man at the back to head back into the danger zone. It worked against Carlisle and I'm not against it but only if it's part of a variation of corners. Doing it repeatedly doesn't work most of the time

I used to love the corners when you would have a man standing more towards the near post say Moore and flicking it on ,they used to cause havoc.

Two things. First, we actually did bring in another striker. Second, what difference would having brought in one more striker have made to today's result? I don't recall any obvious missed chances from either Harris or GOD. Maybe we need another Rodrigues instead of another striker.
Because you bring on that player rather than GOD. Someone who can actually play the role at this level. That’s why you bring someone else in.

Does ANYONE, EVER think O’Donker is going to come on and score? He doesn’t run, he doesn’t think, he is tactically naive and he can’t shoot.
Harsh, but true.
An impactful second striker would have got us several more points this season almost certainly.
