A player from non league who is out of contract in the summer shouldn't cost too much. Is 100k reasonable for Chesterfield to sell?

I think we’ll lose Rodrigues in the summer, half of the Championship will be in for him.
He'll need to find consistency at L1 level for half the Championship to be interested. Plus, he'll be 28 at the start of next season, so it's not like teams will be looking at him as one to develop; he'll need to do the business straight away.

He's been very ordinary lately. It was his mistake that cost us the goal at Charlton. In fairness, his pass to Stevens in the build up to our equaliser was gravy.

I remember most on here didn’t believe it when there was rumoured Championship interest in Sykes, many thought he’d be off to L2. RR already had plenty of admirers and has done enough here to gain more. I’d be very surprised if he is playing League One football next season, but I think we’ll get a sizeable fee.
True but RR is a lot older and I imagine the future potential ceiling is very different.

Rodrigues will get caught in possession a lot due to the way he plays. He’s been punished for a it a couple of times, but as you say there aren’t many players who can play the ball he did for Stevens. They’re already interested.

Well that’s that then no sleepy Sonny boy Perkins what the hell are we going to do?

He is good at passing the ball

Chesterfield are spending a lot and they want back into the FL. I think they'll want a sizeable fee to allow the move in January, otherwise accept him losing for nothing/compensation (whichever it is) in the summer*.

*This assumes he won't sign a new contract with them as I could see a sizeable contract offer being made.

The ball to Stevens was decent enough but it was also a very straightforward pass that lots of players could play.

It's the same problem we faced in our ambitious days, do we cash in and impact our promotion ambitions, or do we see how the summer goes.

Notts held on to Ruben despite numerous offers and they benefitted from that in their league position.

Disagree, it looked easy but I don't think many would take the risk and play it that far ahead of Stevens. The weight was also perfect and it was played pretty quick after receiving the ball with his back to goal. I'm not sure anyone else in our squad would have played that pass

The Stokes being loaned back makes sense, as Aldershot have said he and another player will remain for the season.

I don’t see us signing him and sending him back on loan. We need players in the building rather than shifting them straight back.

Yes it was a decent pass. Personally don't think it was the most difficult pass to play in the world for a professional footballer.
