There has to be something going on..

As I recall, someone did try to create another fans group a few years back but it died on it's pompous a**e. Perhaps offering your services to OxVox would be a decent step forward?

Oxvox are a supporters trust with a committee democratically elected by the membership ( of around 1000 members)

Oxvox are not a secret society akin to some sort of illuminati with all manner of hidden agendas

Oxvox is (only) as strong as its membership .... the more members it has, the bigger the impact of what can potentially be achieved on behalf of Oxvox members (and ALL OUFC supporters, by default) by the elected committee

If 'you're' not a member, maybe join up,.... if 'you' think the elected, by the membership, committee aren't doing as well at the job they've been elected to do, ( voluntarily, in their own time), and 'you' believe you could do better, as an Oxvox member 'you' could stand for election, and maybe show 'everyone' how it should be done?:unsure::unsure:

Nah, easier to moan from the sidelines.

You know what we need? A supporters trust with the aim of keeping supporters better informed and to represent fans interests.

This is not the site to suggest this, you will be slapped down within minutes. Just go with the flow, after all in the grand scheme of things, it’s Tiger who the powers of B will be listening too in the end.

Love it if we end up in the same sort of situation as Rotherham. Nice new ground but Millmoor still standing due to some kind of development restriction.

The initial fears we had about Tiger really appear to be coming home to roost now unfortunately

Sadly yes. My Reading supporting mate said of Tiger when his name was in the frame f...hell not him, if he buys the club you’re right in the s**t.

Slightly changing the story...........................I'm a football fan. You people who come on here, whether they're OUFC fans, or trolls from other clubs, are all, none the less, football fans. It is, to some extent, a 'religion' to us. Investors in clubs, with all their wads of cash, are mostly from foreign countries. When are people here going to get the message; these investors (where ever they are from) are here to make money. The more the better (for them). At this point, I'm not going to write down what's totally on my mind, for fear of being banned on here, or sued by whoever. But I will say this; in the 70's and 80's, football hooligans were prevailant in the game. They quite rightly, were condemmed by our press. We were warned that hooliganism would kill our great game, if it wasn't controlled. Fair point. Then along came the big money men. Football was meant to be a game for the working-class to enjoy. Such was the success of this great game, it was too much for the greedy capitalists to pass over. Capitalists and working class together? Only one winner. The hooligans won't ruin this game. The greedy money men are already doing it.
As far as our club goes? Please don't hate me for saying this, but the only way I can see us winning this latest battle against you-know-who and whatshisname, is for the club to close down and start again, somehow.
I've been to over a thousand games, over the last fifty years, watching different forms of Oxford United. The sorry state that we are in today, really hurts me.
Coventry fans stay away in their numbers. man U fans have their green and white scarves. Protests won't hurt the uncaring (because that's what they are) money men in this sport. Closing down the clubs and being re-born without them, will.

Yep. What you just said, Amersham Dave.
One of the worst shake down effects for us foot soldier fans is the impact of this couldn't-care money-grubbing on league squads.
It was obviously good and right that players' wages rose steeply after the changes in the early 1960s. But those wages have been continuously inflated by ultra-wealthy speculators, leading to a situation where most clubs are forced to rely on the loan system and short term fix measures. The proliferation of players' agents has been part of this trend.
So we get the situation that I find most testing of all: fans can no longer relate to the players (with the occasional loyal exception). Not only because they earn more than us but mainly because the faces change with bewildering speed. Every summer and every January there are mass clear-outs and influxes.
The badge is worn by motley crews of mercenaries who are (fair play to 'em) cashing in as best they can while the money men play the football market for every last sordid penny they can squeeze out of it.

Dave, are you advocating a protest, as we did the night game before Kassam went(I think the time line is correct)?
The local club to me is Brighton, and they went from nearly going into the conference, to where they are now, the premiership. They had 2 owners, hated by all, who sold the ground without any notification.
They would argue, without the marches, protests at games against Bellotti and Archer, they would never be where they are now. It started from banners at games to full blown marches along the sea front.

Is Saturday the day to start? For those that say support the team then protest, that's difficult. A protest nEeds to be visual and directed at those responsible for the mess we are in. The papers take note, and it spirals.
Are the majority of Oxford fans too passive, accepting of the current situation, or have the majority got to the tipping POINT?

I was taking some time off posting on the forum but a quick question for you. The 2 people you mention were they the ones who sold the ground and moved etc because in that instance protest is pointless here as the 1 who owns the stadium doesn’t give a f**k in Monaco and whoever owns the club is operating with 1 arm tied behind their back. We all want a championship club but in our current position I’m afraid top half of league 1 is the best we can hope for.

This is not the site to suggest this, you will be slapped down within minutes. Just go with the flow, after all in the grand scheme of things, it’s Tiger who the powers of B will be listening too in the end.

Yeah, I wonder why.

No-one will work out the new name btw.

It’s obvious something big is happening at the football club. It’s effecting the players, and certainly results on the pitch.

The question is, is it good for the clubs future or.... Not worth even thinking about!

What Dave said.

I see it that we have 2 options.

We either want a successful club in the championship and to establish with in the league. In order for that to happen we need a wealthy backer to put his millions into the club/stadium/training facilities. That wealthy backer will want his money back at the end of the day (just like Eales did) so we have to run the risk of having land sold off, stadium pulled away from the club then rented back to the club (i'm not too sure if that's been done before?) or youth players sold on for a massive profit.
No money man is coming into the club for the love of the club, they are coming in to make money in some shape or form. In return we get the possibility of being successful but that's what we have asked for.

The other option is to be a well run club, local young players coming through the youth set up and playing for the 1st team and having players living in and around oxfordshire or near by counties. This option is very viable and is probably how a lot of us think football should be.
In order to have this though we need to accept that we will be playing in and around the lower leagues with a successful season being a decent cup run or a promotion out of the blue (See Accrington Stanley). We could build a 10000 capacity stadium that is compact, close to the pitch, good social club in it and knowing that for most games we would pull in 6-7K a game.

It all comes down to as fans what do we want from our football club? Success or a community hub that is a great place to go to get away from every day stress.

FFS surely there are people at the club who read this forum and can see the fans disdain, I would like to think that someone with Tigers backing can come out and appease us fans with a statement.......whether it’s bull shot or the truth? we can only wonder.
Something about a potential new owner as of the end of October and where this great club of ours is going we deserve that at least.
If things go against us on Saturday with Robbo and some of the players saying what great crowds we have and the support that goes with it, they will see another side to the fans.
Also there are still fans saying we have to stick with Robbo as it will come good, WAKE UP.
