Has anyone been to the old McCain stadium in Scarborough? On the Seamer Road into the town. They had some great Cup nights. Once managed by Neil Warnock. Once again the plug pulled by the main benefactor.., probably due to league status being lost on the last Saturday of the season deep into injury time.So Chelmsford/Whitby away is what you'd prefer then
To be fair I wouldn't describe any tie at this stage as a glamour tie. A tie on TV at this point would be good for different reasons, it puts us in the national spotlight which is great for the stadium publicity, Wrexham (international spotlight) and of course will provide some tv revenue. Most ties we would get that would involve TV would be against lower opposition I am sure. Our away form is so good, I can see why people are thinking of good away days out too.
Not too fussed if it’s a L1 club - Reading or Wycombe ideally, home or away. Swindon away would be the one though. Wouldn‘t mind Wrexham away and having a go at their defence, they conceded she’d loads at home and a fair few away too. Ones to avoid are the Accrington’s, Fleetwood’s and Morecambe‘s of this world - long, boring treks to soulless outposts.
Yes, for an FA Cup tie in fact. Whitby vs Hull with home leg switched to our friendly (cough) neighbours down the coast. Highlight of that game was at half time. Tannoy plays "I Would Do Anything For Love" by Meatloaf (full extended version) and the PR operator apparently went to get some grub, leaves the door on the latch and it slams shut with the volume control and everything behind a locked door. First 6 or 7 minutes of the second half (had to kick off due to telly I think) set to the croonings of the Loaf at full volume.Has anyone been to the old McCain stadium in Scarborough?
