Matches Pre season games.......2022

A good work out on quite a warm afternoon. For me Ciaron Brown was the best player on the pitch, reads the game very well. Mous was steady alongside.
Browne and Bodin appeared to be playing well within themselves but you can see the quality.
Smyth looked tidy and strong even though I think it was he who lost possession which led to the Nor Lye goal.
Mcguane went off with an injury, but it looked like a precaution more than anything else
Of the younger players I thought Sove at right back was steady, whereas Owens struggled at left back up against NL’s no7 who looked their best player. Am I right in thinking Owens is actually a forward??
All the youngsters that came on with 15 minutes to go acquitted themselves well and were pretty energetic and positive in their play.

Thought Owens looked out of place as a left back last week at City too.

What’s up with forde?
Sam Baldock, Alex Gorrin, Sam Long and Anthony Forde are all not risked today, but they should be available for United's midweek games at Hungerford and Eastleigh

Interesting to see how Spasov gets on, was a hot prospect when he first come into the team.

Has had a lot of problems with injury, has been given a s/t contact to cover pre-season as basically a last chance.
Would love him to come good, but fear the odds are against him

I think he set up Goodrham's goal today against Banbury. Only heard it on the radio, didn't see it

Spot on!. Smyth played in the holding role, so it does appear that he and Gorrin will be competing for that position. I agree in regard to Brown, he was rock solid, gave no quarter and was unlucky not to score. He looked very dangerous attacking corners. Following his performances last season, Brown > Thorniley.

Disappointing goal conceded. Oxford never really got out of 1st gear. Good Finishes from Browne and McGuane.

Sinclair has been replaced at half time and didn't score against Banbury 😂😂😂 show him the door KR
