.
How much did we pay Barnsley to keep Kane for another 6 months considering it was a 12 month loan in the first place? Maybe we haven't paid anything but agreed to pay a higher percentage of his wage ?
No, it was definitely a one off payment buying out the recall clause they had on him. What that figure was I have no idea.

Let's be honest we are not going up automatically play offs are our main hope. We know the squad is lacking which KR didn't address we have one striker not three . Alot of wingers not really performing week in week out . A right back and left back not performing week in week out. And no CDM with real grit and yet we are still in a good place. I think we will see 5 players in hopefully very soon you don't want to drop points to teams around you a big few games coming up for the team.

5 players in?
Did you listen to KR I would imagine we might get 1/2
My bet is that it will be Browne and one other
Agyei will be on his way

Hmm not quite as 'balanced' as most of other posters here (most sensible forum i have lurked on this season) Stocksbridge very poor but 4 no- yellows and a no-red benefitted you massively ..had he given the fk for clear hack at McGrandles then next 5 players (flying of both sides) in to tackles wouldnt have ended with Kane red ...from my vantage point in stadium we were actually most impressed with Williams but your vulnerability out wide needs addressing on both sides of the pitch, and all glad when he was subbed..Imps ended game with 2 RBs at Centre Half, 2 attacking mids at full back and 4 right mids on the pitch and no strikers - smallest squad in L1 and missing 5 starters (and 2/3 captains) in Walsh/Jackson/Bridcutt/Hopper/Draper plus presumably our only 'fit' CB in Montsma for a long stint. Best side in League by a mile is Rotherham on what we have seen. Big drop for us since last year was the removal of the new salary cap that evened things up last season. Us possible play offs at best i think ..KR decent manager and some quality L1 players but with Sunlun spending fortunes as well as Ips/Pompey Charlton Wycombe Rotherham and even Bolton Wigan gambling on getting up it will be carnage ..good luck ..back to lurking
Thank you for coming on here . Always enjoy other fans opinions and having been on other forums to read I’m glad this forum is relatively more balanced (but only by a small margin!)

Regards the game I thought you absolutely deserved the win. Your work rate both out of possession and also movement off the ball in possession we’re far superior to ours. That’s pretty much our strongest team and they looked apathetic and way off their normal standards and that’s credit to Lincoln for making that happen.

Ref was a little quirky but didn’t impact the result.

The comment on the rolling around …we can’t complain because we have become masters of shithousery in the last year. And we acknowledge that on here. But I would say your fellows were rolling around a lot more than ive seen any other team and in excess. It was a little awkward to watch. No grudges though the win was deserved.

Wish you well for the rest of the season and hope Appleguns has great success with you guys. He resurrected us as a football playing team and is still highly regarded in these parts

Hard not to have a lingering suspicion that this game may mark a turning point in the season. We’re going to badly miss our best midfielders and there are two tough games up next. As has been mentioned elsewhere, we are too inconsistent and KR continues to be out-thought tactically by more astute managers. Yesterday showed up our worst weaknesses and we deserved the defeat against a more determined team (and let’s not forget they were shredded by injuries). I fear for our chances at Adams Park, particularly as a bad defeat will send our confidence plummeting.

Time to get our best goalkeeper back in the team. Eastwood hasn't let anyone down and performed well but the shots do for some reason seem to fly past him into the net. Not necessarily his fault. But he is not our number 1 and putting our best goalkeeper back in might just give a bit of a spark to the whole team.
Saying that Stevens hadn’t been as good as last season before he got injured

Some discontent in KR's voice.......not just the performance today.oxford

First away defeat since September. Now that is inconsistent!!

I don't agree with those on here saying we just had an off day. After we beat MK there were those saying the next five games were crucial to ensuring we kicked on and consolidated our league position.

Of those five we won one, drew one, lost two and one was postponed. The victory came against a Wimbledon side who Boreham Wood turned over yesterday.

I don't think we've moved on from last season when we didn't make the grade. We have a team that is great to watch a lot of the time particularly at home and particularly against teams that aren't physically and don't press too much but we just don't have the qualities yet that will earn us promotion. So buying the right players in this transfer window is critical and it will tell us more about Robinson's limits (or otherwise) as a manager and the ambitions of the board.

Four things from watching that:

Lincoln knew that if they pressed us we’d have no time to get a rhythm going. They did it well.
Lincoln knew that Seddon drifts forward and that a diagonal ball often catches him out
Lincoln knew that Sykes has a short fuse and they targeted him.
Lincoln set out to break up play by constant niggles and shoves.

Nothing we wouldn’t have done. I did think it was a red card btw. Two reckless challenges within a minute.

Two poor performances don’t make us a bad team, but we do need to make a few changes.
The most urgent issue for KR to address is midfield. All very nice, but no protection for the back four.
I don’t think Gorrin is brilliant, but he is competent and does give us physical presence we lack.

I’m not over optimistic about Saturday. Pub Team Wanderers are very well drilled.
I wonder if KR will put McNally in the Gorrin role? He’s big, quick, can tackle and is aggressive.
I thought he was our best player yesterday- mind you, a very low bar.

We were well beaten yesterday. Missed a Gorrin in midfield badly to try and get some control in there. Sykes has been terrific this season but he’s powderpuff in CM to coin a Wilder phrase. Our full backs are good when we’re on the front foot (which is most games) but came up against excellent wide players and struggled. I don’t like our shape with Williams on the left, he’s a good player but we invited pressure down that side with Seddon relatively exposed. Thorniley not being next to him didn’t help matters.

Feels like the season is catching up with a small squad now with Cam and Kane out. We’re well placed but needed this window. Henry-Forde in the engine room next week for me (ha), with McGuane further forward no major concern though.

Actually we’re not inconsistent, we’ve been very consistent for a dozen or so games of good results and form.

We were down to ten men from the start because Whyte Didn’t show up at all, he’s been a big disappointment from the start of the season.

Let’s be honest, only Eastwood, McNally,Moore and probably McGuane were on it yesterday.
But there’s still plenty to play for and only 9 points needed for safety 😉

There are six wingers and about eight midfielders on the books. Even without Gorrin, Kane and Brannagan there is still Hanson, Henry, McGuane, Forde, Sykes and even the lad Davis available. There are nearly three players available for every position in midfield and up front. It is the biggest squad I remember seeing at the club for years.

Apart from in defence.

We are now playing the reverse fixtures from earlier in the season.
If most teams are like Lincoln they will do their homework and know if they press us and don’t sit back we tend to lump it forward but that is no good to Taylor.
Not every team will be able to do this but be prepared for more of the same especially away from home and until KR comes up with plan C we may not see the fluid football we have seen of late.

Amount of overreaction on here is immense. Literally two games everyone was saying 'something special is happening this season'.
First away loss since September. Get over yerselves!

It's not the fact of the loss, but the manner in which we lost it again. Good managers like Appleton suss us out and KR does not seem to have the nous to figure out how to combat it.
