Firstly, I’m not referring to the players. I’m referring to the fans. Report me all you like. I couldn’t care less. I don’t agree with the political message that is undoubtably attached to taking the knee, and nothing you can do to say, will pressure me into changing my beliefs. Who the f**k are you to tell me anything?
The players are not putting out a 'political' message'. They have said they do it as a stand against racism.

Dont you believe them?

So you’re speaking on behalf of every professional footballer on earth? Gotcha. You’re making assumptions, based on the comments of a few.

If the players were standing against racism, they would do just that - stand up. I kneel to no one. I am second to no one, and I am not going to indulge in a subservient gesture, because you’re afraid of challenging the status quo.

There are many ways that you can stand against something. Taking the knee has lost all meaning, and the political association has lead to more division and a diminished message. If anything, it’s made things worse.

I'll ask again. Do you not believe the reason the players have given for why they take the knee?

Name one player who has said they're doing it for any other reason.

Yes. Is that the point? No. As I have said, the message is diminished, and has been tainted by the political association that it very clearly has! I am against racism, but equally, I am against being made to feel like it’s a bad thing to be white.

I don’t like the concept of taking a knee one little bit. Its a further Americanising influence that jars me. We don’t need here and I wish we’d found another way to demonstrate our opposition to racism.

However we are where we are. Would I boo at footballers who do it to support their friends/teammates etc who are subject to revolting abuse simply because of their skin colour? No, I’m an adult who can distinguish between what I think and what matters to others. The act is far less important than the sentiment behind it. I am capable of holding my views quietly in this case because I can see a bigger picture in front of me. Booing because of what I think just undermines the sentiment and legitimises the online abuse I’m afraid.

Is BLM really a Marxist organisation? I’ve read a bit about this, and about whether it’s ‘anti-white’ or whatever and I’ve yet to read an unbiased article that actually makes a strong case for either claim. If someone has a link to something they think I should read then please post it up.

Defunding of the police? Either here or in the US.

How about some of the beliefs shared by Oxford resident, Sasha Johnson.

They did briefly at the start, and yes, that was changed a long time ago.

As has been repeatedly pointed out.

When it became apparent that the actions of BLM UK wasn’t what kept well with people of the UK?

Think statues, think defunding the police. Think looting of shops.

How is she by the way? Heard she got shot in the head by a group of black men? I wish her well, but blimey, the irony is unbelievable..

What did the PL say when football resumed way back during the first lockdown?

When did they change the tune? What made them change the narrative?

Have you asked every single footballer what their reasons are? No. Again, assumptions.

Eh?

I asked you to name a single footballer who has said they're doing it for any other reason.

What assumption(s) have I made?

The challenge is still on the table btw.

Why didn’t Kasper Schmicheal take the knee at Wembley v England when he has done all season for Leicester?

Has he suddenly ti changed his mind after being with Denmark for 3/4 weeks?

Will he take a knee next season?

Why won’t anyone ask this question ??

So do you think that when players are taking the knee they are thinking of Sasha Johnson?

Maybe ask Dianne Abbot?

The political person who was very quick to stater that her shooting was a racial attack.

Funny that she’s not mentioned the attack lately after the arrests of 3/4 people who didn’t fit her narrative. *

* - For Essex yellows fans, tweets are available ..

That's the cynical view. The charitable view would be that it was when they realised that their own views didn’t align well with those of some factions of BLM - I suspect the truth is somewhere in between.

Why does it matter anyway?

I did wonder why there was nothing in the news about it. I guess black lives matter, just not when they’re not shooting each other in the head. Oh how different things would have been, if a white person was involved..

Well in which case don't boo. No one is asking you to applaud or take the knee as well.

I'm not a monarchist but I don't boo God save the Queen. I show respect. You should give it a try.

My point is, I am entitled to do so. Whether I do or not, is down to me and my own personal choice. We’re at the thin end of the wedge if we are silencing anything/anyone that even remotely opposes something that they don’t believe in! Right now, society is becoming very Orwellian in that regard.

It is my belief that those booing the taking of the knee do so because they are either racist, or want to appear cool to other racists! They are clearly ignorant to the wishes of those players who do take a knee and who have spoken with great maturity about the impact of racism on them.

Sadly, there's literally no point in arguing as they are too ignorant to listen and I just hope that the vast majority continue to drown out the few.

Sadly nothing that has subsequently been posted changes my views.

There remains a huge amount of ignorance from some, and the desperation to justify their positions is almost laughable.
