General What needs to change?

good job the season doesnt finish after 12 games then.
Two extra points would’ve had us promoted last season, and could well have been the difference between the playoffs this season and not. You can dismiss writing off a quarter of a season, every season if you want, but it all adds up.

I suppose it depends if you support the football club or the individual in the dugout as to whether or not you think it’s no big deal. My priority is Oxford United 😊

cover for the defence, creative midfielder and a twenty goal a season striker and my seat in the Jim Smith stand needs to be covid-19 secure.

the team is always going to lose games and i dont support Robinson above Oxford at all. this isnt the 90s anymore where just having a good team is going to see us getting to the championship.

Club officials and their friends whilst posting on here failing to offer a balanced view...
It’s mildly amusing watching people accuse others of not being balanced or fair, while exhibiting the exact same traits and characteristics in their own behaviour. Too daft and lacking in self-awareness to recognise the irony of it all. On a bad day it’s like watching the really pissed bloke in the pub trying to fight everyone, even though they would be on their a**e the second that they let go of the fruity.

The overwhelming majority of people in this place are capable of having a half-decent exchange even if they disagree. It’s only a very, very small minority who don’t offer anything.

talk about irony!

I think if I had just bought the club and had pockets as deep as these guys (allegedly) have I would be hoping Lincoln dont go up and then ask Mapps to take us on a journey....

lots of money

Doesn't lots of money buy you better players, creating a better team that will gain promotion? Obviously we need a decent manager to build a team capable and also executing a switch in tactics when things aren't going quite right.

yep thats the point

As i said in another post. Will be very surprised if we see Cooper back, not knowing what his personal problems are. Could be we will cancel his contract on mutual consent if he cant come back.. what ever he is doing i wish him well.

Why change anything? Half the fun in supporting Oxford is that we never seem to do anything the easy way!

Promotion in 96 after a crap first half of the season before that incredible run in.

Coming out the conference, first season unbeaten in loads, top for ages before dropping in to the playoffs, win away, take the lead at home and still f**k them up! Then when we do eventually come up we nearly throw it away before having a day to remember in the Wembley rain.

90% wanted MApp sacked in his first season, Hylton was shite before he'd kicked a ball, Roofe out of his depth etc! Then everything clicks and we have the memorable cup games, Wembley and a promotion that we very nearly let slip too.

Robinson has started badly every year but has given us some of the most exciting (and frustrating) football that we've seen in years. Developing and selling players for big profits, balancing the books and getting us to a playoff final only to see if all crash and burn!

I don't think we've done anything the easy way since 84/85 so why start now? Let's enjoy the ride, the hard times make the good times so much sweeter!

(And learn to use the ignore button!! I'm sure it'll reduce the stresses of some and be less boring for so many others!!!)

Have we played any really exciting football this season? Genuine question. Cant rememeber any matches when i thought wow we really outplayed the opposition. Maybe doncaster away and some of the dross such as northampton at home.

Ok crewe as well. my point is that its only a handful of games in a season. Passing around the back, forward, back again. Rinse repeat is not imo exciting football.
