He made an absolute hash of Gillingham’s first goal!

I actually played football for years at a pretty decent standard, and was a player/coach for several seasons as well thank you very much!

But yes, I agree, Eastwood should've done a lot better for their first goal, which I did notice after I'd posted, that I'd forgot to mention.

But other than that, he didn't do much wrong, and the 7/10 I gave him was bumped up by the 2 world class saves he made more than anything else.

4 games down 3 defeats 1 win but it’s early in the season KRs teams never start well let’s see what happens this week get a result against crewevid and a couple of quality signings and we will all be feeling a lot happier anyway im not going to lose any sleep yet it’s only 4 games

It's strange that most of the people who have been slagging off Sam Long for years are now saying we need him to start at RB.

Very noticeable that Gillingham blocked lots of our shots within a yard or so of the shooter. Big contrast with our defending, most obviously with their second and third goals. Closing attacking players down is one of a few basic, simple things we are not doing well enough at the moment.

Most of our better stuff today came through Forde. Kelly, Taylor, Long and Clare looked well below L1 par.

I can’t disagree our defence worry’s the hell out of me I’m wondering whether Moore looked good because Dickie was excellent or whether Moore is struggling this season because he’s the experienced CB out of him and Atkinson or long Clare is shite compared to Cadden and long imo he’s not a RB but it’s 4 games let’s wait and see what happens this week

I thought Moore has looked pretty assured and composed at times, but the problem he will always have, is that he's very tall and gangly, which mean he'll always struggle with agility, mobility, speed and sharpness.

He's definitely good enough to be in the squad, but if he's our number 1 senior CB, we're in trouble.

But isn’t that what I said along side a Dickie or a very good league one defender Moore looks good but him being the main man at CB is abit of an issue we need experience to help these young lads out not players like Clare who make errors quite often

How many times does it have to be said, our style of play is self evident and teams are happy to let us play that way and wait for opportunities to come along to counter. We've been done by 3 teams in spectacular fashion: Wycombe, Lincoln and now Gillingham.
We defend poorly and pay the price. The stats today are, or should be, an embarrassment to OUFC. We didn't win because we couldn't get the ball past a ten man defence. Add to that the usual time wasting, falling down and vociferous claims for fouls (all part of the dark arts we apparently shun) and we have the result, a loss.
Without a really strong defence and players willing to get back and cover we will concede again and again. We need defensive cover and soon.
It is so depressing to watch.

Are you joking, it was obvious that Robinson and him fell out as Robinson never played towards the end, hence why he ended leaving.

That’s because he’s the better out of the two players, but still wouldn’t be first choice for me as I would have got decent right back in, and left back and wingers with pace.

Or as someone oddly said "he isn't up to it, wherever he plays" - Yet he has been one of our most consistent performers in recent times. Football fans are fickle but this forum is something else at times..

World class? The save in the first half was in the centre of the goal and straight at him ?. He SHOULD be saving that

They were both great reaction saves, that any top level keeper would've been proud of, and applauded for

Why are some people acting as though he did anything other than what he is employed and paid to do? ?

For every one good thing that Eastwood does, a couple of mistakes are right around the corner. He has been out of form for some time and he thinks he is untouchable. That has to change..

Jack Stevens should be our #1.

I think its clear we need a defender or two that are better than we have. A CB with experience is a must and I think we have dropped a clanger in signing Clare as a first choice RB. IMO we don't have decent cover for Ruffs or someone to push him.
