Chris Cadden

Why dont the club announce it if signed?
Why wouldn't he be in the squad tomorrow?
Re the clause to be activated, if that's the case why wouldn't it simply be a 6 month loan?
maybe awaiting clearance, via Twitter, from Trump , as its a US MLS outfit involved, plus, its said Trump likes to have his fingers in a lot of pies (allegedly)? ;)

Couldn’t tell you why it’s not been announced yet but he’s been with the club since Rangers.

It’s a 12 month with a break as it’s more palatable to the masses but I’ve been told there is an agreement in place that he will join an alternative English side on loan in January.

The whole deal, including Colorado is to do with finance and limiting the outlay of all three parties - Colorado, us and the other English team. If Cadden joined the other English side now, they would have to pay hundreds of thousands of pounds to secure him. Instead, by signing him in January the outlay is halved.

And presumably its relatively cheap for us ?

So some bloke we’ve only heard of because people keep going on about him here might sign a deal, or a loan deal, at some point, or not. Not very exciting! We want strikers and reliable centre halves!

He’s signed the 12 month loan deal with break clause with us.

@kip - yes it’s not an expensive deal for OUFC.

What a faff. I can't imagine how this will benefit us. Is he really THAT good that he's worth all this bother for? are there no simpler alternatives?

more to the point WHY OUFC WHY ARE YOU LICKING ASS LIKE THIS..Where's your pride for goodness sake.

if this is the future of the game i'm out

It seems a lot of bother to go to for a lad to be cover to Whyte for 6 months, I get that it’s cheap but it’s very short term.

So if I’m understanding this right, Colorado (when did it change from Columbus Crew?) are signing him with no intention of using him, it’s just so another English club can sign him cheaper than they can currently? Why the hell would we agree to be a part of that? It’s not as if the compensation fee for English clubs to sign him would be that big now anyway, isn’t it about 270k?

Not sure we can get very excited about a player we know is (1) not sure he actually wants to play for us. (2) not vital to our plans (3). expensive (presumably) and (4) going to b*gger off in a few months time.

You could understand if the fee was running into the millions but this seems a lot of hassle for what in football terms are small numbers.

McMahon and Long will be our right backs this season. Apparently McMahon has been given number 2 with Long number 12 if that has any bearing on who's likely to be first choice.
