So who should we approach or Interview ?

I'm sure Jim Smith's got his phone switched on...;).
McDermott or Simpson would be interesting. McDermott has been out of management for the best part of 2 years. It would be another gamble to see if he could recapture the form he had in his first spell at Reading. After the Youth World Cup success I guess that Simpson is looking to stay within the national set-up?

It never really works when you appoint a former player or manager even.

Mal Shotton, Mickey Lewis, Mark Wright all failed and Jim Smith and Denis Smith
has miserable second spells in charge, ultimately.

Talk of any “ old boys “ should be completely off the table ( Simpson / Saunders / McDermott / McClaren) and that includes
Chris Allen too, although I would like to see him stay.

Appleton has been proved absolutely right

I think people should get set for a wake-up call

The game can see what’s happening at this club. The money has run out and that does not go
Unnoticed

The money has run out but in the last 3 weeks we have paid a fee for Dickie, spent £200k on Brannagan, a loan fee to Man City and paid off Clotet. Yep you’re right, sounds like the money has ran out!

Also just to add, the goings on at Oxford are fairly low down on the list of interest in the football world.

For what it’s worth I’d go for the Crowley brothers at Lincoln.

We bid £500k for Kieffer Moore but you keep on grinding that big axe of yours.

On the contrary, i have no issue with DE not spending. It’s his money. And I’m grateful for the fun when he did spend

But I have an issue when he behaves as if we are still spending. The sacking of Clotet a prime example. We are where we are because of his management and decisions. No other manager would have had us performing any better

Really?

Interesting name on that list is Kevin Phillips - no actual management experience, but has been involved in backup roles at a couple of clubs now, and speaks well and knowledgeably whenever I hear him.
Any reason why Chris Allen isnt on the list, has he expressed a lack of interest?
Will be interesting to see who our "Rooney Rule" candidate is ?

Chris Powell would have been an interesting option, but he’s nailed on for the Southend job (allegedly)

Not that many people objected to the appointment of Clotet. I would say the majority view was positive.

Contrast that with the objections we raised to the appointments of Wilder and Appleton.

I think most were on board with Pep Clotet as he seemed to talk the modern game. He appeared to buy into what DE had built here with MApp.

However, that ended up being a load of b*****s. Jobs for the boys with the Malmo 2013 squad being reunited, ignored scouting reports and a series of sliding results after initial success that have rendered this season an utterly pointless one. Brannagan, IBR and Dickie were too little, too late to buying into the work that MApp had put in. Having the double done over us by Bury and the 0-7 still ringing in our ears and that was it.

DE now needs to get the appointment right for another time. Instead of someone who talks a good game but ignores what he said in the interview he needs someone with a vision and the balls to make big decisions too. MApp cast aside those who no longer fit and I imagine the new guy should be doing the same. Some of the more complacent players should be looking over their shoulders.

Someone like Michael Appleton perhaps to do that job!

Because he cares about the club? Strange notion for some people to comprehend.

have i said he doesn't care? i was actually defending the guy..... i actually responded to a post stating Eales would take the cheap option and keep Faz and Chrissy in charge which surely if was "solely"about saving money he would have kept pep and not paid him off.

Youre probably right..... however, after MApp's mate Shakespeare departed, MApp went onto a job share/ joint number 2 role from outright and sole assistant coach/manager, would Leicester prefer to 'save' that, now, additional wage?..... as Greavsie used to say, it's a funny old game

I hope you're right but I just can't see it unfortunately.

I'm not sure that Dan Crowley would be the right appointment, given his attitude when he was on loan with us.

Football is a funny old game you never know what’s going to happen. MApp might dislike being a number 2, things st Leicester have changed as they have here. It’s worth a phone call for certain. If it’s a no go then look down the list! Eddie Howe left Bournemouth and returned, sometimes people just fit a certain club.

Personally I’d love to see MApp return if not we get behind the new man whoever it ends up being!!

I can’t see Cowley coming as he want to bring his brother too. Compensation required for them and pay off for Clotet.
I like the idea of Grayson as he knows the league...possibly Warburton although he doesn’t seem to stay long wherever he goes.
Billy Davies might like the idea of another go in the English leagues...Lampard could be here, wasn’t he shortlisted before
