Has Des been given the tools needed to succeed to the level expected of him? It’s a pretty resounding ‘no’ in my eyes. I’m not sure he’s a great fit or a particularly good manager, but he’s been set up to fail with a chronic lack of strategy and planning above him.
The same lack of strategy or planning above didn't stop Manning, he came in and brought an assistant, analysis and GK coach with him. He then worked with Ed Waldron in bringing some decent players in.
