There was a few that used to go to Oxford Dogs and were decent blokes, if memory serves me right 1 or 2 of them were part of the famous Quality Street Gang that relieved the Bookmakers of huge sums up and down the country.

Thought they were a Manchester gang?

Update on sales as of 5pm on Wednesday and an apology as my spreadsheet was faulty (motto of the tale is don't rush when it comes to dot counting!!) when it came to my post on Monday which meant that I overstated our home sales at that point by 399.

So, correct figures on Monday at 5pm were 7602 home sales + 1247 away sales for a total of 8849
Updated figures for Wednesday at 5pm are 7864 home sales + 1247 away sales for a total of 9111

There are 1915 home seats left for sale -

South Stand Lower - 666
South Stand Upper - 260 (some prime seats in Block 12 have been released over he last two days - this area was previously 'sold out')
Oxford Mail Stand - 467 (this has been selling by far the fastest, accounting for 138 of the 262 sales in the past 48 hours)
North Stand - 522 (only 24 left in the two open blocks 24 & 25 with the remainder in the family section)

At the current rate of sales, the crowd should be around 10,000.
It looks like the family area end block and maybe fence end of the SSL will be the only parts not virtually sold out?
I reckon the club need to try hard to get the family section sold out as well.

club were (rightly) pushing the remaining tickets viaemail earlier today , itll be either a sell out, or close to a sell out IMO

There would have to be a serious lift in the current rate of ticket sales Sarge for it to be a 'sell out' - it's looking more like 10,000 at the moment. Hopefully there will be a late upsurge.

Also worth noting that there is a big segregation area in the North Stand - we have in the past had as many as 748 tickets made available for home fans in Block 26 but none have been made available thus far for this match. There have also been bigger away allocations - West Ham were given 1247 whereas Sunderland back in February were given 1822 (which seems to be the maximum possible away figure).

So, unless extra seats are made available a 'sell out' would be round the 11,000 figure.

I have no idea why West Ham would be getting less than Coventry for example?

Sales will be around the 10k figure over the weekend Id reckon..... then theres monday and tuesday sales , where friends of friends of friends of OUFC supporters attempt to get tickets albeit not being on the database??

10,000 is decent for a game against West Ham reserves in a competition that won’t exist (at least won’t have prem teams in it) in its current form soon. France got rid of their second cup competition recently, leaving England as the only one of Europe’s big five leagues with two cup competitions, with all the talk of extra games in Europe I think the league cup is in its last days as a it is.

wont EFL allow Prem U21s to play in it ....as well as the leasings.com/checkatrade/ paintpot/ shaun harvey trophy? ;)

when the league cup was first introduced in the 1960s, it wasnt 'taken seriously' for many seasons by many clubs in the top flight (at the time- hence a certain club atthe wrong end of the a420 actually winning it back then) .... then the league cup winners had an automatic way into European club cup competition, which suddenly saw an interest from top flight clubs in the league cup competition...... in 86 of corse OUFC won the league cup and had, by winning the competition earned a place in the following seasons Eufa cup competition .... except Liverpool supporters actions at Heyschell stadium led to a UK government backed 'ban' on ALL English clubs taking part in European cup competitions- OUFC missed out!

Since English clubs were re-instated in European club cup competitions, goalposts have be been moved to suit PL clubs agendas, with qualification for European club competitions now based on PL finishing positions

Which has led to both the League Cup and oldest cup competition in the world, the FA cup being 'disrespected' by many PL clubs, especially in the early stages, as the 'prize' money for PL placings by far eclipses any (by PL 'prize' £ standards) chicken feed amounts on offer from EFL or FA .... vast majority of money in English football is shared between the PL elite, until both EFL and FA , who run the two major domestic cup competitions bring in laws, rules and regs to curtail PL clubs taking the absolute P**s out of the League cup and FA cup competitions (which wont happen as EPL and FA are spineless when it comes to dealing with the PL elite) , nothing will change
