The player self tested because his son was unwell and the player had no symptoms.
If a member of your household has symptoms are you not supposed to self-isolate??

No! Crewe told the EFL they could not fulfil the fixture.Oxford didn't want to play. Crewe did , we may have to loose the points and Crewe awarded 3.
If you have a test, you are supposed to self isolate until you get your results. So he should not have been on the bus, in the hotel, or anywhere near his own team mates. The player self tested because his son was unwell and the player had no symptoms.

What would the situation have been if the Crewe player hadn’t taken the test?Waiting on a positive test and not isolating. It's hard rocket science is it?
He has a young child so wanted to make sureBegs the question, why did he have himself tested .....
What would the situation have been if the Crewe player hadn’t taken the test?
It was the player’s son who was unwell, but the player took a test on his own accord and found out this morning that he was positive.
The situation could have been worse if he hadn’t taken the test.
The ridiculous part is that following the distinct possibility of having come into contact with someone displaying symptoms, Crewe, as an organisation, did nothing. It took one player to act independently in getting tested to show how serious the situation really was. What would the situation have been if the Crewe player hadn’t taken the test?

Crewe should receive severe sanctions under the current legislation let alone what the EFL, FA PFA guidelines/rules indicate.
What did old Baz say?@bazzer9461 giving it some welly on Radox!
Well yes, it can always be worse if an aymptomatic, untested player mingles with other people. But that is not what happened in this case. What would the situation have been if the Crewe player hadn’t taken the test?

Exactly! My son had symptoms a few weeks ago. I had no symptoms and nor did my partner. We all self isolated. How hard is it for some people to understand on here? Stop sticking up for Crewe, they fucked up!
Pretty much what we have been saying on here. Speaking with some authority on the health implications and the cost of clean up following the Crewe visit to both ground and hotel. What did old Baz say?
