More money? Why would Charlton agree to that ?
Charlton are almost certain to be in L1 next season.
If they don't let Blackett-Taylor go in this window they will lose him for nothing.

Been previously mentioned but I think Femi Azeez's contract runs out at Reading this yearFeels more likely we will see a young loan if it’s effectively a 3rd striker role. You would expect Goodwin and Harris to play the majority of available minutes so might be tricky selling a loan for someone like smith with a potential chunky fee involved. I suspect we will be looking at right wingers ok loan that are possibly out of contract in the summer - similar to Edwards.
Rothwell was used a lot less.McGuane's situation reminds me very much of Rothwell when he was here. Has the skillset and ability to flourish at a much higher level but isn't played in a role/system that gets the best out of him on a regular basis. I don't think he will sign an extension (regardless of division) and I predict he will go on to thrive higher up the pyramid.
I think Rothwell was in and out of the team and injured at times, he only really got good shortly before he left. Certainly I can see MM in a similar light, but for a player who is so strong and skilful he really doesn't affect games enough.Rothwell was used a lot less.
We do.I’m sure we have an option on McGuane. Can’t be certain mind.
I think we were guilty of not really knowing his best position at the time, and we also had both Ledson and Lundstram for some of the time that he was here.I think Rothwell was in and out of the team and injured at times, he only really got good shortly before he left.
Yes would like that also, but selling minutes could be tough, in my opinion. Sure we will find out before long
Feel like it's mainly when he's the deepest midfielder that he's overly cautious, as if someone has absolutely hammered home the point under no circumstances can he give the ball away in that position.Plenty to do for RR, no doubt.
But I think it highlights one of the things that frustrates me about MM. His tendency to take a safety first approach is too often seen. Under instruction or has he been coached to care about pass completions too much?
He’s capable of so much more. Perhaps he lacks the opportunity to be more expansive due to his role/position, which RR clearly doesn’t, but RR is our creator-in-chief and MM doesn’t have a similar skill set.
He’s a bit of an enigma, in a similar way that Rothwell was when he was here (as was mentioned earlier). I could be wrong, but the lack of regular suitors for his signature suggests to me that he’s not seen by others as a risk worth taking.
I hope someone can unlock his potential, but I think that person is largely Marcus himself.
Are you happy with Eastwood as understudy to Cumming, a loan keeper? That's rubbish. With limited funds we have much bigger priorities.
He is a decent understudy. Are you happy with Eastwood as understudy to Cumming, a loan keeper?
Hopefully we can sign Cumming permanently with a goalkeeper we can have confidence in to deputise
He’s been a great servant to be sure and is of course contracted to the club. Unfortunately many rival clubs players shoot from distance when he’s in goal, often with bad consequences for us.He is a decent understudy.
I am.not sure that many teams in this League would have a better back up.
Oh yes! I can't remember the last post on here I agreed with so much. For as long as I can remember we have had a view that having three strikers is an extravagance akin to Caviar and Oysters at the Ritz.Out of interest, how do Bolton go about 'selling minutes' to Jón Dadi Bödvarsson, Dan Nlundulu and Cameron Jerome (3rd, 4th and 5th choice strikers)?
What about Derby - with James Collins, Martyn Waghorn and Connor Washington all vying to be the man up top (with other attacking options - Tyreece John-Jules, Nathaniel Mendez Laing - able to step in also)?
Last season Plymouth managed to loan in Sam Cosgrove in September to rotate with Ryan Hardie and Niall Ennis (who themselves were in and out) and then added Ben Waine in the January (with Luke Jephcott - far more senior than GO'D - on top of this).
Any reason why we should be bound by weird recruitment criteria that other clubs regularly evade?
We have gone all season with one senior striker. We now have two. I don't think a 3rd is in any way indulgent for a team pushing for automatic promotion (and that's before we get onto a Perkins replacement or any use of GO'D).
How many teams at this level pay for two keepers who are both top class? It's a waste of a wage. I've been as critical of Eastwood as pretty much anyone as well but it's not like playing me in goal, he's still a mid/lower League 2 standard keeper. It's not worth spending good money on someone who could realistically never be needed, it's not like they pick up a load of niggly injuries throughout a season. Are you happy with Eastwood as understudy to Cumming, a loan keeper?

Goalies don't tend to get injured/suspended and so Eastwood for me is an ok deputy on that basis. If Cumming got a long term injury, then we might be able to source a keeper on an emergency loan given the specialism of the position, there appears to be different rules for that role. Are you happy with Eastwood as understudy to Cumming, a loan keeper?

My point was around loans, which I think we seem to agree the 3rd striker will most probably be? Unless we sign a development forward like Plymouth did with Waine.Out of interest, how do Bolton go about 'selling minutes' to Jón Dadi Bödvarsson, Dan Nlundulu and Cameron Jerome (3rd, 4th and 5th choice strikers)?

I think the winger he was referring to is Edwards!?Hang on a minute, Tyler Burey is injured? Where did you read that?
