I’m with @bazzer9461 with this.

Glad to see we have Goodwin, its a risk if he is injury prone but time will tell.

The issue I have, is the phrase from Des Buckingham “waiting for the dominoes to fall”

IF we were serious promotion contenders we would have been in for our targets and signed them by the first week of January which is exactly what Plymouth did last year.

But no,here we are fannying about and 15/18 points are up for grabs against four decent teams and a derby game.

Burey and Cummings have only replaced what we had,Bennett was already here, Edwards won’t play this season, by the time he’s match fit the season will have ended

I acknowledge that only having one striker up until now is not Des’s fault but let’s face it deadline day signings are going to be too late for us
Were Plymouth not top of the league at the time? I suspect we are with a pack of clubs looking for the same players who are assessing their options. Being top of the league would certainly make it easier to sign players.

Could have fooled me!

And yes, I fully get it, it is frustrating to find out (after all the excitement) that he is, in fact, injured. We've been asking a lot of Harris so far this season, and it would be great to have a viable alternative to him in the match day squad asap.
I think we must have to be fair!

No one has said anything negative about the signing itself, other than how disappointing it is that he’s isn’t fit to play for a while.

Why are you now agreeing with exactly what many have been saying, yet criticising everyone for saying so? 🤔

How dare you besmirch LGBTQ+ ally Henderson in this way. The man is a saint.

He loves the gays so much he could only stay for 6 months, once he realised that not even Jordan Henderson could change Saudi Arabia’s mind about homosexuality, no matter how many Nivea commercials in a towel he did, he was straight off to Amsterdam where the first thing he did was to go to a gay club and hand out free bottles of Nivea body cream.

I'm certain it will be off. Will be around 2 degrees in morning and no sun. Warms up a bit around lunchtime but there will be no change as early as 10am. Swindon already off and that's with a very similar weather forecast. Fingers crossed for Tuesday.
You may be right but have Swindon had covers on the pitch all week with heaters on the worst areas? May well be off but the fact it’s not off already probably means it’s playable atm

Forgive me if I think Des Buckingham is better placed to know how easy this is than you

Despite his 80 odd caps and top flight career, his greatest achievement will always be that he inspired Bob Mortimer to write this:

Not sure where the 4-6 weeks has come from.

But yes, I'd certainly like another loan. That's more likely to be a AM/winger than a striker, but I think we'll get a player of that type in the next ten days or so.

After that G'OD will go out to a non-league club I imagine. Ready to be recalled if Harris gets hit by an ice-cream van or Goodwin breaks his leg after dropping the man of the match champagne after his debut game.
Just under 2 weeks before the end of January and then 2weeks minimum to get match fit if not lomger

It's more that nobody has said anything but that. Nobody's really written anything positive about the transfer, other than maybe a handful of posters.

I'm not criticising people for being concerned at our continued lack of a fit striker to support/raplace Harris, and this forum is here precisely for people to voice their opinions. I'm just bemused by the tirade of negativity in place of any joy at the signing.

Looks a good signing but as ever, only time will tell. We'll just need a little patience. Full training by the end of the month could be 10 days, so might be fit to replace Harris for a few minutes on 3rd Feb. We certainly have some tough games coming up before then though. As has been mentioned, Burey played up front for Hartlepool and scored a few goals so he's another option should we need to switch things around. I'm sure/I hope we'll get another forward player or two in on loan in the next week.

He’s not broke his leg, it’s managing a tight thigh basically. The club will assess him & I’d guess he will train maybe the last week of the month maybe a bit less & will be ready to play come the start of feb, if not sooner

No we’re happy but it’s the anti climax “ he’s signed…but injured “

It feels like with a number of the comments that we’re going into the next four games without a recognised goalkeeper, not an additional striker.

I totally understand the concern that Goodwin isn’t ready to hit the ground running, and whilst it’s not the best scenario it’s certainly far from the worst.

We’re coming off a good run of form, Cumming has had a full week to train, Burey has had the same and will make his debut, Leigh will hopefully start, and Long & Negru may also be back.

These next four games are far from the lost cause some are painting them as, and whilst we still need players to come in and come back in an attacking sense, the defence and midfield are fully-stocked and Harris & Goodrham are in good form. There are certainly a lot of positives, even if Goodwin isn’t available.

Doesn’t matter if they were top of the league they wanted to stay there and acted quick. No doubt Goodwin will come good but do we want to cement the place we’re in at the moment or is it we’re on a journey again?

Ronan Curtis has signed for AFC Wimbledon until the end of the season. Be interesting to see where he ends up next season if he regains fitness.

An injured winger who can play at a higher level? How did we miss out on him?
